Just took my 3 year old to the E.R. for the first time. She is ok, bronchitis came back with a vengeance, and we were worried about further complications, but all clear. Have you ever had to take your kid to the E.R? No kid? How about a friend?

Well I'm 17 and have Crohn's Disease, Lupus, Junior Rheumatoid Arthritis etc. My dad's a paramedic and I remember many times(he still does!)come to the house and drive me to the hospital bc I'm barely breathing.

Funny story... a little long; sorry. Small group of adults were hanging around a community printing press one night. We had cans of soft drinks & beer stashed outside. There were 2 kids around; my daughter & a friend's boy, both about 7. My daughter

went outside to get a soft drink; someone asked her to grab a beer while she was out there. The boy followed her. She tripped on the way back in, fell with her hand on the (closed) rim of the beer can, which cut her thumb. Trip to ER ensued... She

was embarrassed about the beer can; I said "Tell them it was the Coke can!" so she did. The doctor kidded her about her story (she also said she'd been alone), & said, "Aw, I know what really happened... You were getting a beer and your boyfriend

was chasing you, & you tripped!" This was SO close to reality that both of us were stunned. But his kidding still made the ER visit a bit more fun than it would have been otherwise, & she has only good memories of having her thumb sutured.

And I'm really glad your daughter is OK! That can be scary, especially with such a young one.

3 weeks ago I took my 4 year old girl to the ER because he had a hollow plastic stick in her mouth and she fell on it. It punctured a hole through her soft pallet. Worst 3 days ever.
As of today it's all but healed , just a red angry scar.

Omg I would have freaked! That is so scary. I'm very happy to hear that she is all but healed up.

I can only imagine how scary that was, for all of you. I've heard some bad stories about accidents like that. Thank goodness she's OK now.

After the accident happened ,she didn't cry one time while getting an IV, or any shots. She was amazing.(After it happened a piece of her pallet was hanging on her back tongue preventing her from eating, talking, or drinking. She had to have surgery)

Last month my little sis broke her arm and I had to take her to the ER because she was bleeding all over the place

Two bad head bumps and a broken collar bone...three times in total. But we had three boys so no surprise there.

Ha! That sounds like me as a kid. Front teeth bashed out 3 times, broken wrist, numerous dislocations, concussions.... I was a wild child to say the least. Thanks for sharing!

Sorry to hear that! I'm glad she's okay. As we say in the south, bless her heart. :(

I took my daughter one time at 12 months old. She had a severe reaction to her MMR vaccine - bad rash, and swollen, hot, red joints. Scary stuff.

Ouch allergic reactions are no fun at all. Thank you for the blessing. :)

I love that saying by the way. My grandma is from SC and I have heard that all my life. Makes me think happy thoughts. :P

Awesome. :) it's definitely a common phrase in this area. It's great because you can also use it sarcastically, or to say mean things, like, "she is so ugly... Bless her heart!" Very versatile saying.

But I of course meant it sincerely! Hope she's

When my son was 10, he had pneumonia, & he went from manageable to blue lips &super high fever overnight.
At the ER at first, they were like fill out these papers, then OH! trouble breathing! It suddenly became like a TV show! Nurses, machines flying

Everyone rushing into my son's room hooking him up to this & that. Giving him this drug and that. There must have been 8 people in that room.

That is scary! That was actually our biggest concern, as bronchitis can easily lead to it. It was one of those better safe then sorry trips thank The Lord. I'm glad your son recovered!

A week ago tonite was out first visit with either kiddo (2 and almost 4 years). My littlest was severely croupy and my doctor's exchange wanted us to take him in to the ER. So we did. He's fine now and almost well :) Glad your little one is OK too!
