Are you a follower of the same religion you grew up with(assuming you grew up in a religious house) or have you changed religions altogether?
Atheist to atheist
Christian to agnostic-atheist. I find myself leaning more towards complete atheism each day.
Grew up nominally Episcopalian; but I've been atheist for decades.
Methodist to angry atheist.
Don't be angry.
All being nary does is negatively affect you.
Nary? Really autocucumber? ANGRY.
Mormon to truly converting Mormon. I'm still in the process of being spiritually converted.
You are awesome!!!!!
Really wiildkat? Good for you!
What does that mean?
I grew up in a nominally Christian home (Lutheran), but didn't become a real Christian until college.
Catholic to atheist.
Episcopalian to Spiritualist. I do like many of the teachings from the Bible. But some of the teachings make no sense.
What is spiritualism? I'm not familiar with the term.
Catholic to Nondenominational Christian
Lutheran to United Methodist to atheist.
Same but I have changed in between.
Technically the same, but as a 3 year old I held agnostic views which didn't change until sometime after I was 5.
...and that's when you realized Santa was real?!
Ok, that was messed up, but I had to throw that one out there.
Haha wow dude, that is very specific.
Baptist to Mormon.
Was that part of the package when you met your (now) wife?
When are you going to Brazil?
I didn't convert until 6 years after meeting my wife. It wasn't part of the agreement. It was solely my choice. I'm not planning a trip to Brazil, but may in 2 years.
Ahhh, I see. I was going to ask why the conversion, okie. Was it a flirt to convert scenario? ;)
Huh. Pretty cool. My dad was raised Baptist and married a woman from a (huge) Mormon family.
Ha ha curly. No. No flirt to convert. She got okie fever and couldn't be cured another way. :-)
Did either your dad or mom convert, RJ? I find couples with different religious views interesting. I would have a really hard time with myself.
No, both abandoned their respective churches. But they both encouraged my religious education, and I am thankful for that. They always asked me when I would ask them...well, what do you think?
Same religion, Christianity. But I grew up Lutheran then got really involved in a Pentecostal-esque evangelical church in college. They were exciting, and passionate, but inconsistent. Some stuff didn't make sense to me. So I'm back to Lutheranism :)
Raised as a Pentecostal Christian. Now I am an atheist.
Bummer bro. Pentecostalism doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, either.
Gods and the supernatural don't make a whole lot of sense to me anymore. I lost my after an earnest search for truth. I did find the truth, just not as I expected it to be.
One of the funniest things I've ever seen happened in a Pentecostal church. If you're a 15 year old boy and you've never seen "speaking in tongues" before, it can be very entertaining.
Every once in a great while I feel a mild urge to take Okie off ignore. Never long enough to go through with it, though.
Hmm, well if you ever get the itch to search again, feel free to shoot me a comment I'll gladly help however I can.
Haha,, this is true okie, this is true. Quite the spectacle.
I'm always on a search for truth. But, the possibility of gods being real has reached such an vanishingly small possibility that further searching in that direction is a waste of time. Unless radical new evidence is introduced, of course.
Born/Raised Roman Catholic. In my early years of high school I transitioned into agnosticism. Now I'm agnostic with atheist tendencies.
Still Roman Catholic.
I grew up Methodist, now I'm Baptist.
Raised Roman Catholic. Am now Atheist.
I was raised Methodist. Now I'm atheist
You're getting more and more awesome. ;)
Why thank you :)
I have always been an atheist.
Are your parents atheists? Just curious.
Nope. Both of my parents and both step-parents hold religious beliefs of some kind.
