Saudi Arabia has declined to sit on the UN Security Council, citing its inefficacy. "Work mechanisms and double-standards on the Security Council prevent it from carrying out its duties and assuming its responsibilities in keeping world peace."

I think Germany and Japan ought to be given permanent seats on the Security Council.

Japan has the world's fifth largest military and the third largest economy. Germany has the world's ninth largest military and the fourth largest economy.

The Security Council should be "power loaded." The countries that actually enforce Security Council resolutions should be the ones that decide what those resolutions are.
