Which of these two territorial gains without war was more important for the US: the Louisiana purchase or the acquisition of Alaska?

Alaska was a financial boon. The Louisiana Purchase more than doubled the size of our country at the time.

No Louisiana purchase likely no modern us. Certainly would've taken much much longer

The then president spent more than he was allowed and Napoleon didn't realize what he gave away, which was more than what we now call Louisiana. The US doubled in size. Sometimes breaking the rules is a good thing.

True although given Louisiana was basically meat as a bread basket for Haiti which the French were losing and lost it was just more land he needed to police
