In which field are you more likely to find a higher number of carpel tunnel victims? (Did I spell that right?)
I would assume offices, but I don't know for sure.
I heard on Freakonomics that construction workers actually suffer from carpal tunnel more, and that office workers are actually often used as control groups in studies bc the occurrence of carpal tunnel is so low!
They said about 1-2% of office workers have it, where 6-8% of construction workers have it. And nearly 20% of workers in meat-packing plants have it!
Grocery store cashiers suffer from it as well.
Interesting; thanks. I used to get *something* from doing hours and hours of pipetting, but it didn't affect the same area or nerve; it was my thumbs.
I work in an office and already showing signs of it :(
Couldn't think of a better word! Sorry. I generally hate use of the word "victim" bc it's so overworn. But yeah...
...that's not very good either.
"of people with carpal tunnel syndrome" perhaps?
Offices. It's more fine hand movements/ muscle control. The more you're on your computer the more likely you'll get it.
Thanks. Haven't had much opportunity to spell carpal tunnel!
