Do you think churches should be forced to allow gay marriages to take place in their "sacred" places.

No one should be forced to do anything. And the State should have NO interest in marriage. That is between one/two men or women & whatever God they choose.

While I believe gay marriage should be legal, I believe churches should be able to make up their own minds.

Even though I disagree with you on legalizing gay marriage, it is not my place to tell others how to live. I 100% respect you for believing in religious freedom. That is exactly what our country is about- allowing people to live the way they want

They shouldn't be forced. However, if there is a truly Christian church, with compassion and openness for all of Gods children, they would have any marriage allowed between any two people who love each other. IMO

You can't have it both ways.
Separation of church and government remember...

Of course not. They're not forced to accept all straight couples either - a law like this only widens the gap between straight and gay. (Sometimes it seems like that's what the gays want, though...)

So many new names here lately. How very "odd"

Huh? Not sure what you mean. I'm seeing a few new names (including the poll's author, who was a "suggested user"), but I've been seeing all of them for the past few days. Are you implying something I'm missing?

No, it is their church and therefore their rules.

I definitely don't think they should be forced to. I heard recently that that might start happening so I wanted to get other people's views on it.

They recently forced a baker to bake a gay wedding cake.

Think- lol! There is no such thing as baking a gay wedding cake. Yes, they were forced to put a gay topper on the cake. Like you, I don't agree that they should have been forced to to it.

Did the baker actually get forced to do it?

At any rate, that's a totally different matter. Churches don't fall under the anti-discrimination laws. Many (but not all) businesses do, & discrimination based on sexual orientation isn't illegal...

in all states.

Anyone who tries to force a church to marry a same-sex couple is going to have one hell of a legal battle, because it just isn't going to happen.

Should they allow them? Yeah.
Should they be forced to allow them? No.
