How about bills require a 55% agreement to be approved. If it's nearly split 50/50 it shouldn't be passed.
Also I just started today so I didn't know it was previously proposed and failed.

What is wrong with a simple majority?

Nothing personal, but if you just started today, why in the world are you trying to change something as drastic as that? You haven't been around to see how voting on bills has been in the past.

Regular congress requires only a 50% majority why should it change for us

Not to mention someone can nuke a bill meaning it requires 2/3

IF THERE IS NO OBJECTION, THIS POLL MAY BE SHARED.

I propose amendments and bills cannot be passed unless 70% or more agree with it.

This bill has been proposed before and it failed I believe

amendments require 3/4s majority

there is no reason bills need more than a simple majority

Perhaps amendments could be done by states, rather than by users/congressmen? Just my $0.02

trepidhickory Ayy Lmao
10/17/13 4:30 pm

We really couldn't do that since some states only have 1 member and others have over 10

That makes it more interesting. Plus, different states have varying populations today by that factor or greater.

Mr. Speaker do we have a recall process set up?
I was thinking if someone got a petition set up with 15 signatures there could be a recall if a certain congressman is over stepping his limits. A petition would be simply saying...

"Petition (username)'s recall) a signature would be replaying it with your user name.

Possibly, but we are currently following the disciplinary steps shown in the equitable democracy act.

I'm not sure what you are saying, but please note this sharing was done by a new follower who liked the poll and wanted to share it. It was to help and the user was not aware of the rules. It's an honest mistake.

Tom this recall only applies to cabinet members, a new congressman cannot be recalled because he wasn't voted in

10/17/13 4:05 pm

Oh OK, apologize. I thought you were talking about Congress men.

10/17/13 4:16 pm

MJ are you wanting to recall me?

and we currently have an impeachment process set up in the constitution btw

zman117 Ohio
10/17/13 4:18 pm

What is the point of a recall? We have impeachments.
You didn't vote in any cabinet member, it's a confirmation. You don't get to recall a confirmation.

MJSeals Esq.
10/17/13 4:19 pm

If someone is inactive, it frees time up. Or if someone in the cabinet turns and just trolls

And I have no issues with you mr. President it's koalapanda

zman117 Ohio
10/17/13 4:20 pm

I say again, we have impeachments.

You do not have recalls for cabinet positions.

MJSeals Esq.
10/17/13 4:21 pm

An impeachment is different then a recall

zman117 Ohio
10/17/13 4:23 pm

Well, like I said. There is no recall for a cabinet position. That is ridiculous.
We already have impeachments. Article III of our constitution lays this out for you. Look at that

Eliana. This was an honest mistake, we know you did it to help and it's happened before, the consequence is just that you are informed not to do it again. If there's any doubt sharing could have affected the poll, the result is invalid.
