I guess it would depend on the area, but I delivered pizza for years as a teen and never once had trouble. I went into some sketchy parts of town too. I think most people realize the pizza guy isn't carrying enough money to make a robbery worth it.
With everything their is risks. I'd have to see statistics on how often they get robbed/killed/raped/etc. Only reason I might carry a weapon, without knowing those stats, would be because I'm a young female.
I was just in Nebraska and my friend told me a great story of how an attractive female used to deliver pizzas, until one delivery resulted in her attempted rape. She screamed for help and luckily a cop was right around the block. Otherwise...
Had an ex that used to be a pizza boy, told some crazy stories. I don't think it would be for me mostly cause I get lost often. But I would be packing heat.
FUN FACT
A pizza delivery guy in a big city invented the bullet proof vest and demonstrated its effectiveness while wearing it and getting shot in the chest. Head and limbs unfortunately aren't protected. That's why you need a juggernaut suit. CODref
I've been to Buffalo a few times. The City Hall area is a little sketchy early on a Sunday morning, but I felt safe pretty much everywhere else I went in the city.
The Spot coffee shop on Delaware & W Chippewa was my go-to place for lunch.
A "perk"? Wtf kind of assbag attempt at a joke is that supposed to be??? Jesus Christ, it's like you've never had a single conversation with a rape victim. What the actual fuck, dude.
I'm going to attempt to be generous and suggest that comment was perhaps a poor attempt to reference some people's sexual fantasies (which yes, for some, does include being forced). I say that because of the ever popular pizza delivery porn theme.
Happy, I'm incredibly sorry about what happened to you, and hope whoever did it got the punishment they deserved. I assumed you were meaning rape, not rape fantasy
They didn't get punished. The only other person who I have ever told is my wife. I'm over it though, it happened a lifetime ago and I don't hold grudges.
