House is voting now. Looks like they'll vote to end the shutdown. Is this the beginning of the end of the Tea Party?
God I hope so! Raise the average reading level...
I hope not they are part of the GOP, I may disagree with them at times but they are part of our goal of a larger party tent.
You know that they actually narrow your party, correct?
With all due respect, the tea party is a messy narrow minded stain on America. Holding America hostage and using extortion to get your point across is vile, selfish & pathetic. Tea Party people only care about themselves.
What goal, to destroy the US government? I think there's a word for that, it's called treason.
Stick a fork in them. Dig a hole and toss em in. The fat lady is singing.
Yes it is! No an opinion just facts. If voting demographics stay the same and the tea party keeps their beliefs they will become extinct. By the numbers: Texas will be a blue state by 2020.
I think it's the beginning of the tea party and beginning of the end of the Republican Party.
To the Dems who voted "hope not" - who are you?!
Here's an idea for all of us...get our representatives to act like adults, compromise, get legislation thru to stop these intermittent crisis, get the tax code reformed, lower spending, and run gov like it was run right up until Jan 2009.
Good idea. We need to get of our reps and let them know how we feel. They're off until next Tuesday- they're going home to their districts. Great time to send them a message.
This is like your team coming off the field after a 57 - 0 asswhoopin, with an 0 - 15 record, and you are saying how you're going to win the Super Bowl.
Do you guys really think this debacle is attracting more people to the tea party? Are you serious?
No, end of the Republican party.
I think it's only going to get the Tea Party more fired up.
Sorry, but that's delusional.
How? The Republican Party is clearly splitting...most Repubs are not at all satisfied with them. I think your comment is delusional.
You think the GOP is doomed and that the TP is going to emerge as a bigger, stronger party after all this? You ink most republicans are more TP than they are moderate/centrist conservatives?
No freakin' way man! No way! I'm sorry, but that's crazy talk.
1.Psychiatry: A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness: delusions of persecution.
I left the republicans in part because of exactly this issue - an unwillingness to cut spending.
Not sure, but I think that was directed at RJ.
Not directed toward you, Okie. Directed toward RJ who can't make a point without a personal attack. Nobody gives a fuck about articles, links, and polls... It's plain and simple that there are many republicans moving away from the establishment.
I'm actually happy about that. Usually I'm the one getting that said to them. Ha ha.
Haha. I suppose it was a bit immature of me, but I'm sick of the personal attacks. Don't worry, I'm not gunna go all Okie on everyone or anything... :P
No, they are splitting. This statement is stupid. The Tea Party are extremist Republicans, so they probably will form their own party. Let 'em.
"F**k you." Is the personal attach here.
This is so strange. Conservatives are arguing the GOP is over and liberals are arguing it still has a chance...
No way. It'll be roaring soon enough. Our "Greece" is a few miles ahead down the road, not in our rear view mirror. This is far from the last time we'll go through this.
You mean more shutdowns?
Yes. Get used to it.
Get used to it? Really?
No. Not even close.
I really really hope so. We need civility in DC. No more brick headed pols.
I hope so too.
