Did you ever buy alcohol at a liquor store or drink underage?
Yes, I still occasionally buy alcohol at a liquor store.
Didn't drink until my 21st birthday.
Was it fun?
Never tried to buy it myself underage. Just have had other people get it for me.
I keep getting carded. Least like 3 times in the last year or so which have been the occasions I try and cop. Kind of annoying really. It's not hard to find a connect, at least in my area.
Do you really think I would mess with alcohol illegally?
Not illegally. I was either with my parents or husband, aka "legal guardian" for legal purposes and thus legally allowed a glass of wine or Jack if I wanted it.
Yeah, I figure if I'm older than 18 it should be up to me, and I'm a responsible guy.
Wait. You can purchase it underage in certain places?
If you know how to talk, yeah haha.
Mostly local corner stores and sh*t. Least that's where I've found success.
Are we talking beer or liquor?
Two 6 packs of 16 oz cans of Budweiser. For what it's worth.
Oh, okay. I thought we were talking about liquor stores haha. No, I've never tried to buy beer here. They card my grandfather every time I'm with him. It's weird.
Lol that's mad weird wth. I get carded only half the time and I'm 20.
But to be fair, I was at a liqueur store. But dude was mad apprehensive as was lol
Liquor stores aren't state controlled?
I'm not educated enough to say, but I wouldn't assume so. I live in a dope area for copping alcohol underage. It's a poorer area, but not too much crime. So a lot of rules get overlooked.
Beach, each state is different. I'm guessing VA controls it's liquor stores, as does Utah and others, but where I live it isn't that way.
Yup. Liquor is sold in ABC stores and most beer and wine is sold in grocery stores. The highest alcohol content I've seen in a grocery store is 8%, and it was one of those drinks in the hard lemonade section. Everything else is state controlled.
That's how Utah is (or at least very similar). MO is not however. Utah was the first state I had heard of that ran it's liquor stores that way, but I guess it works.
It works with selling to underage drinkers. My mother wouldn't even allow me to walk into the ABC store when I was little. I've still never been inside the front portion. I have been in the back to get free, sturdy liquor boxes.
Idk what state law is, but liquor stores in my area don't really care lol. Unless there's a morally sensitive clerk (for lack of better phrasing), it's not hard to cop alcohol in my area. If I can't myself (although I look older than I am), someone
else usually won't have a problem.
Most durable boxes ever. If you're looking to move, I recommend them. People might look at you like you're an alcoholic, but it made life so much easier.
Maybe it's a south vs north thing on that front? Because like I said, and I kid you not, my grandfather is carded every time. State law says that they are required to card you if you look younger than 27 or 30. One of those two ages...
Nope :) I don't really have any desire to either, I've seen the effects it can have on people (both positive and negative), and the cons highly outweigh the pros in my opinion.
Wait, did I miss ur HHH question?!?!
Nope, it's coming soon!
"Tell me lies tell me sweet little lies..."
Lmaoo sorry, I'll definitely get one out today!
Imma hold u to it ;) or I might have to start my own little hip hop poll... Maybe throw back Thursday? Lol!
First time I bought booze and got into the bar I was 15. Before I turned 21 I only had 1 incident of difficulty buying alcohol. I thought I was sooo cool (because I was) lol.
Not really, sips of my parents drinks here and there and a splash of wine once a year...
The first time I tried, I spilt my drink. It was fragrant, so I got worried, dumped the rest, and frantically tried to clean my mess...out of the carpet.
Lmaooo that's a funny ass story :P
Sometimes it would cost a little more but yes all the time.
Yes, but not until I was 18. Even then, not very often.
I don't even drink now. #alwaysthegoodgirl
I applaud you for your sobriety haha
I hate the taste of alcohol.
Because it's vile.
But it's kinda fun. In the right context.
Well, the only point of drinking is to get drunk. And then you just drink it as fast as possible. The more you drink the less awful it gets... until the next day.
Booo! Buzzkill! I'd rather not think of that and enjoy my ignorant youth :P
Drinking to get drunk sounds terrible! I would never approve of losing control of my body like that. I drink for a good time. It makes me hot, though, so I don't do it often.
Saying you don't drink to get drunk is like saying you "don't smoke weed to get high."
There's a difference between getting blackout-wasted and getting drunk.
Why would I want to get drunk? I'm not an alcoholic. I grew up where the male in my family would come home, have a beer, and watch the news. There was no drinking to get drunk. That doesn't sound fun to me.
I smoke weed strictly because it may connect me with my inner spirituality. But that's just me.
And I also bought the beer to watch a news source from the Internet. Am I allowed in heaven yet?
If you like to think that, be my guest.
Sorry that I'm responsible and can drink without getting drunk and/or wasted.
You just haven't been drinking long enough to understand the difference is all.
I drink to get drunk. But I'ma punk ass 20 year old. Even then, I can control myself. It's just a fun experience. Drunk and blacked out are two different things in my opinion.
Or we could have different definitions of drunk? Do you consider a buzz to be drunk?
Yes, because it is. The first stage of drunkeness.
To me, there's stages. Sober>Buzzed>Drunk>Blacked Out>In Need of Medical Care haha
I love the taste, and drink for the taste... Never been more than buzzed, and usually don't even get to that point. I'm a very slow drinker though.
This reminds me, next time I'm at my parents, my mom bought a new Bailey's I want to try...
@rosebud, careful, I wouldn't disagree with @violence tonight..
Could you BE any more petty? Really. Try to be a little more childish. I think you can do it.
I really think I can too. It reminds me that I'm in touch with my sensitive side. You know, the side that gives me emotions.
I knew the guy that worked the counter so from the age of 16 I've been able to buy alcohol.
That'd be a sick hook up. I've only known the person who got it like that. The clerks don't trust me for some reason haha
It was a small town so it worked pretty good for me. How long until you're 21?
3 months or so. January 20th is my birthday. Didn't stop the clerk from damn near having a heart attack. I dead up laughed with all his apprehension. I know he could've been in deep sh*t, but I don't look like a cop or nothing in the slightest
Haha how did he find out?
When I came up he asked for ID. I assured him I did. So he put the beer in bags and sh*t. Guess that was too much and he just sold to me lol
Haha that's great.
I didn't anticipate him really looking at my ID. I look 30. Either way, I convinced him to just sell to me lol
You gotta do whatever works ha
Yup! My good party days were pasted by the time I hit 21. I miss it lol
Wow pasted really!? Lol you know what I meant :)
Apparently there was a lot of party times ;)
Lmaoo I'm jk Femme, you much smarter than I am :P
Same here femme
*checks to see if there are NSA agents over shoulder* yes
Other than just sips of alcohol which my parents permitted me to drink - no.
When I travel out of the country and it's legal - I drink some, but I have no issue controlling myself.
I bought it underage, but I don't drink anyway.
I'm gonna be 21 in a couple months, and some dude practically sh*t himself when I tried to get some beer. It was pretty hysterical. He told me never to come back to that place after he sold to me. And it was local, I live like 5 blocks from the place
I had to tell em "I'm like 3 months from being 21". Lol he had the beer in a bag already so it was too late to turn back ;)
When you consider the trouble he'd be in if you were the wrong person or the wrong person found out, that's understandable.
My mom and her brothers used to steal beer from the distributors when they were making shipments, at all of 14 years of age.
To be fair, my area is known for narcs and what not. I told him repeatedly I ain't a narc or a cop. My beard's mad scruffy after all, that's a pass right? Lol real sh*t, I know it's a risk for him, but just take my money lol I'm beggin him to take it
Don't cops and the like have to legally tell you they're a cop if the situation calls for it? I was always under that impression...
Nope. Not ever. They can say they're not a cop 'til the chickens come home to roost.
Oh damn. I didn't know that. Props to my local clerk for having balls. But continuing to be fair, I don't look like the law enforcement type even a little. I was calling dude "fam" and "boss" multiple times haha. He musta known I wasn't a threat.
Better safe than sorry for him, I suppose.
Well he still sold me over 100 oz of beer so not that safe haha
I plead the 5th.
The NSA is ever vigilant...
Right here, Jive...
MrL is a double agent,
The betrayal cuts deep, I trusted you.
I never bought it, no.
Might have drank it....
I don't believe the second part ;)
That I drank it?
Yeah. I was a perfect angel :)
I was a pretty blonde girl in my youth as well. Surgury's crazy fam :P
