A button is before you, if you press it, nuclear bombs will detonate in several major global cities, killing millions, uniting the world against a common enemy. If you don't, the world falls to nuclear war, killing billions in its wake. Choose wisely

Is the common enemy they become united against us, US? Seems likely if I push the button.

Google the film and comic book "Watchmen", or look at the top comments here, you'll get it.

Inaction is not the same as action. Same answer for all of these types of questions.

It depends if the button is sparkly

This reminds me of a doctor episode, fire of Pompeii or something like that. Very good

Well. That's depressing.

You should watch the film "Watchmen"

Uniting the world against a common enemy makes it easier for those who crave power to conquer the planet.

Especially if the enemy was in reality a friend. "A lie gets halfway round the world before the truth even gets it's boots on."

This is kinda like that episode of 24, where that guy stole a bioweapon and was going to detonate it in Washington DC's Metro system in a ploy to force the US government to use *more* military contractors in their foreign policy.

By the numbers, millions dying is much better than billions dying.

Kill millions. Plead insanity.

It doesn't say that you would be considered responsible.

It says "uniting the world against a common enemy." I assume that's me.

That would just suck. Can I hide under my bed, instead?

Killing millions proactively? Nobody's Intel is that good.

MrLucchese If curious, ask.

There's a huge difference between millions and billions. I'd hate to do it, but I couldn't knowingly allow an exponentially greater number of persons to die.
I'm just curious as to who the "common enemy" is... I mean, I would be that common enemy

if you take into account that I set off the nuclear explosions...

10/16/13 11:04 am

Lets just say, if you set off the bombs, it scapegoats someone else.
Lets just call him... Dr. Manhattan

MrLucchese If curious, ask.
10/16/13 11:06 am

I prefer Dr. Evil or Dr. No, but that works too.
I *think* what I presented is what I would do, but I've never been in that type of situation. Logically, it makes sense, and if you want to pull "ethics" into this - it would say many lives.

Oh, MrL, MrL, MrL...
It's gotta be Manhattan, and you're lacking culture ;)

Whooooaaaaaaa....... I just don't want people blaming Manhattan again! :P
