I think it will be possible, but not widespread.
Hope not, that would open the door for unwanted ads/spam in your head and nothing you do makes them go away because they're in your head.

I'm thinking someday perhaps but not as soon as we think. Often society miscalculates when things will happen like with flying cars. They are here but not everyone has one.
Nor are they in the imagined manner thought of in the 1950s.

No, I think some form of hardware will be required; probably nothing like what we currently think of as hardware, however.
