Black Americans are often ostracized if they don't toe the Democrat party line; e.g. "Uncle Tom," etc. They're treated like "traitors to their people." It seems like some think the Democrats have a "right" to them. Is this a "Plantation" mentality?
The democrats want to control the vote. So they provide free stuff to make it a dependency. They promote abortions to control the population. They have a plan.
Supporting abortion doesn't make sense though if the intent is to control the vote. It's cut the black population in this country in half in just 30 years.
Black Conservatives are called behind scratching, black-anglo-saxon, boot-licking, buck-dancing, butt-kissing, co-caucasian, cocktail-sipping, foot shuffling, hi yaller, handkerchief-head, opporTOMist, Oreo TM cookie, cola, among other things.
That's a bit of a generalization, but sadly not too far off the mark. Blacks are waking up though. Not that I think Republicans are their answer, but Democrats certainly aren't.
I'm not a good example. I've had very little interactions with my black family. Luckily, I was raised in an environment that promoted and allowed independent thinking. No ideology was ever pushed on me. I was able to look into it all on my own.
However, in regards to the black community as a whole, I feel they're slowly realizing that the Democrats have just blown smoke. Welfare is a poverty trap. Some need it obviously, but for many it's not a good thing. They're looking elsewhere.
Lincoln wanted the north to stay in the war, and he used their antipathy towards slavery to get it. The Emancipation proclamation didn't free a single slave (it didn't apply in the north) and after the war he wanted them all sent to Liberia.
Funny how you say that as if both sides aren't full of bs to begin with
I've never considered myself to be one or the other, my votes are even exactly 50-50
Statek ... it's absolutely understandable that some Democrats want to run from their heritage of hypocrisy. It's also true that some Republicans have strayed from their responsible roots.
Democrats have -- since their foundation even until today -- always sought to enslave to ensure their power. Republicans have from the beginning sought freedom and personal responsibility.
Where were John Kennedy & Democrats on Civil Rights?
Whoa
Talk about generalizing
I love how you still think you know what I am and think highly of yourself for this wrong accusation
It's "your," by the way
You are so blatantly ignorant and simply wrong
I'm gonna stop commenting
For everyone else, don't argue with stupid people, as the will try to bring you down to their level and win with experience
Statek ... that's right, focus on spelling so as to distract from the shameful history of the Democrat party. And by so distracting, maybe you'll peal off a few of the easily distracted.
The point remains, Democrat leopard's spots are unchanged.
I agree that a lot of democrats have become independents on here over the past year or so, but I don't think it is any sort of conspiracy. Obviously they haven't completely changed everything that they believe in prior to changing their declared...
...political affiliation. Nobody does that. But it is a sign that they are starting to reject the people that they have sent to Washington. I would encourage that sentiment among both democrats and republicans.
Geo, I don't think it's a conspiracy. I think they want to disown Obama. Personally, I wish they would send emails and make phone calls demanding that Obama keep his campaign promises instead.
It is funny that with Obama and his Entitlements, blacks are doing worse than ever. Even worse if you compare them to any other racial group. Record unemployments, lower incomes, more crimes...
He is not doing them any favor!
I agree with that. From my experience in social services it was often a foregone conclusion among my black colleagues that African American clients shared their political beliefs. And they had profoundly negative views of conservative blacks.
Immediately coming to mind are folks like Bill Cosby, Juan Williams, Dr. Benjamin Carson, Herman Cain, Alan Keyes. I've heard so many disparaging remarks of these folks, but I'm not sure 'bout the 'plantation thing'...
Obama worked the system to be successful. ie, he received a full scholarship to Occidental College because he said he was a foreign student. White democrats like that because it assuages their guilt.
"Plantation mentality?" A smidgeon too harsh. But the rest seems like an accurate portrayal of the situation, when it arises. Case in point, David Webb. They don't call him a "Right Winger", but an "Uncle Tom".
I've listened to David Webb for a year or so whenever I'm driving at night when his show is on. I only found out a few days ago that he's black. It surprised me in a good way.
