Would you want your child 3 and under to be given a flu shot?
I never get the flu shot and I never catch the flu. I went to the doctor a few months ago for the first time in 6 years and it wasn't because I was sick.
If the Pediatrician recommended it.
I am debating whether or not to get my 10 month old the shot. In Canada, they really encourage it (and her dad and I always get the shot).
Always ask if mercury is in the flu shots or not. Mercury and ingredients in some American foods especially fast foods are one of the key factors in Parkinson's and other degenerative diseases.
If their flu shots don't have mercury that's great. If it does then take the mist for that never has mercury in it.
I don't even get the flu shot. Everybody I know who gets it, gets sick. Everybody I know who doesn't, stays healthy. I used to get flu shots. I stopped when I noticed they weren't helping.
Yes, a case of bad influenza (not just a cold) is truly horrible. Each yr, about 20,000 children under 5 are hospitalized, and ~ 100 die. Shots are more effective than the mist in kids but mist is better than nothing.
Of course, the shot isn't guaranteed to work, but they do a decent job of predicting which strains will be most common.
My son is 3 1/2 and just got his first flu shot
Did you wait purposely, or it just happened that way?
My sons doctors office doesn't give flu shots earlier then three years and since it wasn't a big worry for me I just waited.
If they were high risk, yes.
I four shots the day I was born 7 with in my first month. And my parents wonder why I hate needles
I would want them vaccinated - but not with a shot - with the mist
Why the mist instead of the shot?
Kate - are you ever coming back to SoH?
