Over the past 7 months, Senate Democrats have offered the House GOP bicameral budget negotiations 19 times. Every request was blocked. Now, the House is calling for these very same negotiations. Genuine change of heart or political posturing?

To be fair we also sent over 14 budgets. One of which Tony has even discussed on his polls. All have been denied. I'm not saying the GOP is innocent here, but the Democrats have their own share of blame to bear.

I don't understand why the tea party is acting like the shutdown is Obamas fault when they have been advocating for a shutdown since 2010. This is what they wanted. Why are they acting like it's not?

Boehner is on record as PLANNING the shutdown 10 months ago. The negotiation ping-pong is just a tactic.

Every time I try to bring this up in a related discussion, some users just... Ignore it. Some users in particular just don't want to know.

I know you ran out of room, but you could also add the democrats now refuse to negotiate. It's also a game of chess.

Now that the shutdown has begun, I see no obligation for them to do so. They offered 19 times to avoid this. Why should they bend over, as it were, even more now that they have they have this hanging over them? And Obama has hosted a number of talks

I think I remember the republicans had to agree to certain revenue increases to start the negotiations and they refused. I don't know if that was just once. I'm sure they had a reason to say no, whatever it was.

I also don't see the fact that the government has shut down as a reason to say now all discussion stop.

Veritas you need to learn to compromise; obstructionism from the Democrats helps no one and only prolongs the suffering of the workers who have been furloughed.

House Republicans have also tried to negotiate with Senate Democrats and they blocked them every time

Source? One would think if the GOP wanted budget negotiations with the senate that they wouldn't block every attempt at exactly that.

Biased question. Yes. I know. I'll try to keep these kinds of polls to a minimum. But it's an important issue.

As long as the vote options give different opinions and they are opposing, I cannot see anything unreasonable about.
