"Poetry without rhyme is like playing tennis without a net." - Robert Frost. Agree or disagree?
Hw to we have exactly fifty percent with an odd number of votes?
I love when my questions are close to 50/50 :)
Yes, although I'd have compared it to a really oddly structured short story. No rhyme and flow, not poetry in my book.
I like the comparison. It's like saying it's too easy, no structure/boundaries. :)
And I agree too.
I've always wondered. Who decides it's poetry if it doesn't rhyme?
I'm not sure. Good question though.
Sorry, Frost... I disagree.
Me too. I love all kinds
I don't think he's necessarily saying it is worthless... Just that it's far easier, to the point of being pointless (to write).
Heh... I don't think so. Maybe that's just me. I appreciate all forms of poetry, and I write some of my own.
We will agree to disagree. :)
I prefer poetry with rhythm at least... I like metered poetry much better than free-verse. And it love Frost.
Overall I agree. Having to have rhythm and rhyme and still say something meaningful is much more difficult, IMO, than writing free verse.
And I love Frost.*
