There is an annual off road race the weekend before Halloween with a costume contest as part of evening entertainment. My 15 step sons dress up for that.
Our kids are in their 30's. They don't Trick or Treat anymore. Our youngest dresses up for work though.

One boy wants to be Ant Man and the girl is being a mermaid.
So far, we have a 2 year old vampire and a (nearly) 4 year old dragon...or ghost...or dinosaur. We're still thinking, apparently :)
My daughter changed her mind about 40 times before I finally said (at the store) we have to pick one now. Lol.
