On Friday, a 5th grade boy from Washington was convicted of conspiracy to kill one his classmates. Are you...
Boys will be boys. Take away play guns, take away fantasy games - then what's left but real weapons and real games?
He must have a really screwed up home life. That's why I might have sympathy.
But if he's just a spoiled brat, with no damn sense, I don't feel bad.
For the killed, not the killer.
First of all, no one was killed. Second, it's never appropriate to label a ten-year-old a killer. Third, to even get to that point, this child must have experienced significant trauma in his own life. That doesn't excuse the behavior but geez!
Ah I see. He only planned to kill someone. A ten year old can absolutely be called a killer. Perhaps you're older than I and don't remember, but 10 year olds have quite a bit more self control than one might imagine.
Sure, ones who have had stable childhoods and stable caretakers who teach them self control. Not every kid gets that. Unstable early childhood and especially trauma can seriously mess a kid up.
