iOS and Android users: are you certain that your next phone purchase will be the same platform (iOS or Android) as your current phone, or are you considering switching to something different?
Considering I'm buying my next phone tomorrow, I'm pretty certain I'm sticking to Apple (5s)
Just got my 5s last week :D
I changed to an Android and I'll never go back!
I already switched from iOS to windows phone and LOVE it!
Im around 80% sure that i wont change. Had to vote "might" change even though its unlikely
I choose might change but actually I have already decided I'm going to get an Android. I'm going to get an iPod as well, though so does that really count?
Android now, though I have thought about getting a Windows phone.
I changed to a gs4, love this thing a hundred times more than an iPhone
Wow! The comments have made up my mind to stay the iCourse. Thanks! :)
I changed twice. Each time I switched from apple I was so disappointed. I will NEVER switch away from Apple again.
I have an iPod and an android phone.
I have both. The iPhone is far superior.
well I ain't gettin' iJunk that's for sure.
If you never owned an android phone then don't try to compare them.
I owned an android and hated every minute of it.
I love iOS 7!
Didn't mean to post that. Meant to hit cancel
Apple all the way! Never had an android, never will. But never a Mac! No, NEVER a Mac!
Never say never.
I made the switch to team iPhone - had a samsung galaxy 4. I will NEVER go back to droid - they're garbage. I had countless software issues, went thru 3 phones in 1 year because of defects. I've never had a single problem with my iPhone :)
The same here
What kind of defects?
the screen froze constantly, my calls were distorted - my friends have all had a call from me in "dearth vader" voice, it would randomly start ringing and nothing could shut it off until it died, calls wouldn't connect although I had good service..
Had the iPhone 4, now have the Galaxy S4. Never going back to iOS.
THEN YOU SUCK YOU RETARDED IDIOT!
Never argue with an iDiot
I miss my iPhone so much. The Droid sucks!
REALLY not liking iOS 7, so will look around. Missing Steve!!!
Stick with what I know
I'm under my sister's plan and she has Verizon. I like this android, so I'll probably stick with it.
Definitely moving from android to windows mobile phone. From everything I've seen with my friends who have one, its the next step in phone tech. leaving my iPad and android tablet behind too. Surface here I come.
I'm not a company cultist. I go with what works best for ME! :-)
Have used Android, Apple, Windows. Surprisingly I miss my windows phone most. Just wish they'd fix the market.
I'm not changing, but I know several who are from Apple to Android.
Tried switching to an android tablet. Kept it 3 days and bought an iPad mini.
I'm too old to learn android OS. Apple was hard enough.
My phone doesn't have a "platform" at all... haha. But if I ever need to replace it, and if for some reason I get a smart phone, it will be Android.
If Apple came out with a larger screen for iPhone, I'd consider keeping it. iPhones are amazing, but hopefully Android treats me well next year.
Who know, I might come crawling back to Apple. It's a solid piece of hardware.
i LOVE my android!
They are completely UNRELIABLE!!!!!
well given that I'd rather shoot myself in the foot than switch to Apple...
I love my iPhone! But, I am open to change if Android is improved.
My personal phone is an iPhone but for work it's an Android. For me (and three coworkers in the same situation) we love the iPhone and despise the Android.
Agreed. And with the Android, I'm tired of the "help" instructions being totally useless. Ie: "Press Menu, then Settings, then Google Now." Uh, there IS NO GOOGLE NOW OPTION.
*Throws phone against wall.*
I really liked my iPhone til ios7. Now I can't stand how it looks OR works. Why would a company screw up a popular device like that? I probably won't get another one.
I have only got my 1st iPhone since the summer. I tend to use expensive things like cell phones until they die, so who knows what will be available by then.
My last phone was a Blackberry Curve (9000-something, I think).
...I may have to buy one or the other...maybe...
From a completely unbiased perspective, I would recommend the new Apple iPhone
~sent from my iPhone 5c
that's weird. everyone I know who has an iPhone, hates it
No tech company comes close to matching Apple's customer service. Never going back.
You mean hipsters who spend too much time on their MacBooks?
Note 3 and LG G2 have made me want to switch to android, they are innovating use like Apple did 5 years ago.
iPhone 6 in fall of 2014. Purported to have a larger screen.
I sell those guys, there was a bigger screen to be rumored for the iPhone 3GS, take all the rumors with a grain of salt. there was a video floating around that iPhones would have holographic keyboards....
iphone for life
Sticking with apple. iOS7 is not graphically my favorite but is the best in function. In addition, having so many features harmonized with apple's desktop OS helps my workflow greatly. Dependent on that at this point.
My big issue with iOS has been function. This release has been excessively glitchy for me. Messages failing to send, Siri is utterly worthless now, reset every day or two. Unless the iPhone 6 blows my mind, I'll be considering other options.
The way all the Apple devices communicate was a big reason I moved away from android. I am continuously impressed with Apple the more I discover how intuitive their products are. My workflow has improved greatly with them!
I'm sticking with android, not getting an Apple unless they actually so something that makes their phone better than the rest
I currently have a jailbroken iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.2. Why can't Apple have a "do not disturb" feature like the S4 where I can accept text messages from key people? A larger screen would be nice also! The only thing that might keep me with Apple
is I'm grandfathered in on the unlimited data plan with AT&T. I don't know if that will transfer to a Galaxy S4.
They do have a "do not disturb" feature...
It's called blocking mode on the S4.
Whatever it's called, apple does have it
Only for phone calls, not text messages.
You have to jailbreak the iPhone and install iblacklist if you want text messages from the important people in your life when you wish to not be disturbed by others.
That's not true. I have an iPhone and I've used do not disturb before. It only allows calls and texts to come through from people marked as "favorite" in your contacts
It only works on phone calls in iOS 6. I know as I tried it and had people call me when I didn't reply to their text message.
Ok. Well I'm sorry it doesn't work for you. Doesn't really matter though, doesn't affect me. You do your thing and I'll do my thing. Have a nice day :)
The jailbroken iphone is the best phone available. Period.
Jrpacman, are you using iOS 6 or 7?
Komm, can't argue with that. If Apple ever makes a jailbreak proof phone it's time to switch.
I think I agree. I read up the ios 7 jailbreak and so far there is nothing. It's taking longer and longer each time. I had to wait 6 months when I got my 4s to jailbreak it 2 years ago.
I've had several iPhones, a Galaxy, and am now on a Nexus 4. The Nexus is by far the best phone I've owned.
I always found that when on android it is best to go with the Nexus line too. The pure google phones are what android is made for.
I had an iPhone and switched to Galaxy S4. I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking with Android from now on.
My mom just got a galaxy S4. That is a really nice phone.
The OS is irrelevant to me. I just want a good phone. So I'm not actively considering change but it will have no factor on my next phone.
The S4 Active made me consider Android, after I said I would only give up my iOS device when it was pried out of my cold, dead hands. If Apple comes out with a larger screen and water-resistant design then I'll stay for sure. Otherwise, maybe an S5.
I don't plan on switching soon but if apple continues on the same trajectory that produced iOS 7 then I'll switch. Currently have to iPhone 5 and it should last me for a while before I need to to upgrade.
I just have a passion for technology. I currently use my iPad for this app and have a HTC One. I'm looking to get an Android tablet and switching to an iPhone next year. I flip back and forth.
As a developer, I'm sticking to iPhone. Android has major issues with hardware, software, and security.
What kind of specific issues? I might have switch to the iPhone.
I would disagree. What problems does it have with software? iOS 7 is as fragmented as it comes. Hardware? Plastic lasts the duration of a two year contract with no problems. And security? Again, iOS 7 has major flaws with bypassing the lock screen. And less than 1% of Android users reported malware.
@kut17 — the unlock issue was fixed with a quick update to iOS 7. This is no longer a concern.
They discovered a new one after Apple supposedly fixed the last one. I think there have been three security flaws discovered in the last month.
@kut please do more research. Google the FBI's IC3, nearly 100% of all smartphone malware and security breaches are on Android. You have hundreds of different hardware devices and rarely updated OS as the providers don't update. That's just the start
You're right. After research, I found out that the actual number of malware on Android is less than 0.001%. Silly me.
I love android, there is no reason to switch to ios. Android has more power behind it, which I like. Ios is way too limiting when it comes to features and customization.
