Considering I'm buying my next phone tomorrow, I'm pretty certain I'm sticking to Apple (5s)

If Apple came out with a larger screen for iPhone, I'd consider keeping it. iPhones are amazing, but hopefully Android treats me well next year.

Who know, I might come crawling back to Apple. It's a solid piece of hardware.

Sticking with apple. iOS7 is not graphically my favorite but is the best in function. In addition, having so many features harmonized with apple's desktop OS helps my workflow greatly. Dependent on that at this point.

My big issue with iOS has been function. This release has been excessively glitchy for me. Messages failing to send, Siri is utterly worthless now, reset every day or two. Unless the iPhone 6 blows my mind, I'll be considering other options.

The way all the Apple devices communicate was a big reason I moved away from android. I am continuously impressed with Apple the more I discover how intuitive their products are. My workflow has improved greatly with them!

I currently have a jailbroken iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.2. Why can't Apple have a "do not disturb" feature like the S4 where I can accept text messages from key people? A larger screen would be nice also! The only thing that might keep me with Apple

You have to jailbreak the iPhone and install iblacklist if you want text messages from the important people in your life when you wish to not be disturbed by others.

jrpacman Pensum iocus est
10/14/13 3:40 am

That's not true. I have an iPhone and I've used do not disturb before. It only allows calls and texts to come through from people marked as "favorite" in your contacts

centexken Republic of Texas

It only works on phone calls in iOS 6. I know as I tried it and had people call me when I didn't reply to their text message.

I think I agree. I read up the ios 7 jailbreak and so far there is nothing. It's taking longer and longer each time. I had to wait 6 months when I got my 4s to jailbreak it 2 years ago.

The S4 Active made me consider Android, after I said I would only give up my iOS device when it was pried out of my cold, dead hands. If Apple comes out with a larger screen and water-resistant design then I'll stay for sure. Otherwise, maybe an S5.

kut17
10/14/13 1:06 am

I would disagree. What problems does it have with software? iOS 7 is as fragmented as it comes. Hardware? Plastic lasts the duration of a two year contract with no problems. And security? Again, iOS 7 has major flaws with bypassing the lock screen. And less than 1% of Android users reported malware.

daveo90 20165
10/14/13 8:44 am

@kut17 — the unlock issue was fixed with a quick update to iOS 7. This is no longer a concern.

They discovered a new one after Apple supposedly fixed the last one. I think there have been three security flaws discovered in the last month.

bnnt Los Angeles
10/14/13 12:58 pm

@kut please do more research. Google the FBI's IC3, nearly 100% of all smartphone malware and security breaches are on Android. You have hundreds of different hardware devices and rarely updated OS as the providers don't update. That's just the start

kut17
10/14/13 1:52 pm

You're right. After research, I found out that the actual number of malware on Android is less than 0.001%. Silly me.

TRJake Pendragon
10/13/13 9:53 pm

I love android, there is no reason to switch to ios. Android has more power behind it, which I like. Ios is way too limiting when it comes to features and customization.
