Nope. If you're old enough to earn the sentence, then you're old enough to serve it.

Do you have any bills I haven't posted? Sorry. If I missed any, you can post them here and I'll introduce them.

Okay I had a couple of ideas I can remember right now.

First I want a constitutional amendment
Sec. 15: Senators pay will be determined by their state legislature
Sec. 16: Representatives pay will be determined by the people of the district they represent

And second I was thinking abolish the death penalty

Would you like the two laws determining the pay of Representatives and Senators in one Amendment?

Also third I would like to see a bill abolishing Section 1021 of the NDAA.

Yay in fact I would like to go further and issue a resolution abolishing the death penalty.

I am on a streak of voting nay. I cannot let age be an excuse.

Due to federalism, yes, at least until someone challenges a state law over the supremacy clause.

I can propose a law that sets all age limits at 18? (So voting, fighting, smoking, drinking, driving (not legalizing drinking and driving) fighting, and adult sentencing)

Most people wouldn't approve of waiting till age 18 to be able to drive.

Well. I meant getting a permit at 16 but you cannot get your full license until 18 and there is a DJ license you can get at 17 (to get DJ you have to pass the drivers test)

Driving at age 15-16 makes sense because it is something you need time to practice and be good with BEFORE you are an adult and on your own. I don't see a point in changing that.

In that case, I don't understand how that's really different from what many states have in place now. In TN, you don't get your unrestricted license until age 18 -- the restricted form limits you from driving late at night or with a lot of people.

The issue is mostly drinking, not diving laws, legalizing drinking at 18

But can they still be given the death penalty for when they are 18?

For a crime committed before 18?

Yes, just delayed until they are 18? I'm not in favor of this, just looking for what this bill covers

I did vote in favor of this bill btw

Wouldn't delaying it effectively be the same thing as going it to them before 18?

Delaying it would be killing an adult for something he did while he was a kid, killing a minor would be killing the kid for something he did while underage

Mattwall1

Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of the bill though? It's almost two sets of punishments.

I'm just trying to see what the bill is for. One is killing an adult who wronged as a kid, one is getting a life sentence while a minor. So you would only get a life sentence then?

Just life according to this bill, yes.
