I don't think anyone is getting what they wanted out of the shut down. It looks, I think, to the public that they are all behaving like children fighting.
Lol we were not throwing a temper tantrum, chill. We were making yet another attempt to repeal Obamacare. I don't really like the idea but it happened and at this point it's the Democrats that are unwilling to compromise. If they had an ounce of
Pragmatism then they would pass one of the 14 compromises the House has offered. You're not going to get a clean budget so stop hurting innocent people in a vain attempt to get it.
The ACA passed the House, then the Senate, then the president signed it, then the Supreme Court deemed it constitutional. How is shutting down the government over a law that was passed through every branch of government NOT a temper tantrum.
Actually, states that are beginning to open and run their own "Federally run" parks and facilities are doing a great job! Federal govt is too big and trying its best to become all-powerful! Americans don't need all that..the spying, the prejudice, the "I'm the boss and it will be done MY way"!
1) The people are mad at everyone. You're delusional if you think anyone besides loyal, brainwashed Democrats think that the President and his allies in Congress aren't part of the problem.
2) No one is getting what they want. That's pretty obvious.
Which problems are being focused on? I hear a lot of distractions getting yelled about, but not a lot of focus on important issues. Unless the distraction itself is what they wanted, which I am more than prepared to believe.
Not as of right now! Neither side has accomplished anything. Meanwhile, veterans are not allowed to visit memorials, and the debt ceiling deadline is approaching.
I'd say they are; their strategy is obviously to make government as ineffective as possible in the hopes that people will assume government can't work when it's actually that a *GOP-run* government can't work.
The American people aren't having it. The GOP is more unpopular than ever, the approval ratings for the President and the ACA are going up, and most people know by now that the GOP is responsible for the shutdown.
Ugh! The President's approval rating has declined, and I have not seen one poll that shows the American people having a favorable opinion of Obamacare.
You can default on more than debt payments. You can default on your obligations to the very people paying those taxes. I personally think that's just as important as payments to creditors since it's pretty much the reason for having a country.
