In May, the day before my birthday, another driver driving recklessly on a sketchy road lost control and slammed into me causing me to T-bone the car. The other driver died on impact, both cars totaled, I'm still recovering physically and emotionally. Follow the road signs people.

I put my car in the ditch when I was 16. I lived in Wisconsin at the time and was driving on ice. I thought I saw a bunny and my knee jerk reaction was to hit the brakes. BAD MOVE. We now have a joke in our family to kill the rabbit.

pinky, that's exactly the way my father drove, and I always felt safe with him. Even well into his 80s he was a much better driver than many young people.

Actually, more males are the vehicle operator at fault than women. I did traffic crash statistics for my job so I know this. Most dangerous holiday in Phoenix? Valentines Day!

If people would learn, and follow the 5 'Smith System' keys, our roadways would be dramatically safer. Probably a 90% percent, or better, decrease in serious injury collisions. 'Aim high in steering', 'Get the big picture', 'Keep your eyes moving', 'Leave yourself an out', 'Make sure they see you.'

Ive never been in a major one, only minor ones. You know the ones that only damage to car minimally, or not enough to even get close to hurting us in the car. All we've got is a quick jolt.

Always be aware of motorcycles!!! Long story short I got a concussion, 7 stitches, and a broken wrist fixed with a plate and 8 screws because a lady wasn't paying attention.

Mjohn is that your observation or enforced by law? Is it my imagination or are drivers more stubborn in PA. No disrespect. They seem to feel justified that they are following the law and block faster drivers. I have driven patiently behind two slow drivers next to each other for miles and miles.

I am surprised that we don't observe a two second following distance. In Maryland it is usually one second or sometimes even less. Then when you head to the country people relax and the following distance increases. We also take time to look ahead and breath.

That is why we require all those safety features in our vehicles. Think about it. With the density increase of all those vehicles we are bound to interact more than once in a blue moon. Also this question asked if ever. The longer you live the more strange things we get to observe.

Rear ended twice. One was more serious than the other as the firemen couldn't even open my back doors because the car had been smashed like an accordion in the back. Both times hit by drunk drivers. I rarely swear, but f@&$ those a$$holes...

I got rear-ended 12 years ago, and my back has been effed ever since. I've never been in a bad accident though, thank goodness.
