Men: do you always hold the door open for your date?
Yes, but only the revolving ones.
I've been with the same "date" for the last two years. After a while its a race to see who gets to the door first to close in the others face. It's better when your comfortable enough with someone that you can screw around and be dumb
They think there "equal"
Oh ya, the south is filled with it. Surprised me when I moved from California to Mississippi and got my first southern hospitality haha
Up there indeed, but it's hard to get away with it down here. It's a lot more like common knowledge here. Almost culture shock with the politeness when we moved here from Pennsylvania.
I hold the door for everyone. It's called being polite and having manners. Something that's being forgotten in my generation and on
Why did women vote on a men only question?
So true idk what's up with it
"What do we want?"
"When do we want it?"
"WHENEVER IT BENEFITS US!"
Ill start opening doors when they pay all expenses at a date and put out.
What's the deal with MS? Every time the map is solid they are the ones that are always different.
Always is a strong word. There's nothing I "always" do, and I know there's times something caused me to not open the door for her. Therefore, no.
Since my date would also be a guy it becomes a moot point.
"Women are no better than us..."
Chivalry is leftover from a largely male- dominant society, it is a system that implies women are inferior, not superior.
I was taught to hold the door for all!
I will give you that. I used to live in Asheville, NC and young men are polite down there.
I realized I had made a tactical error after posting. Will ignore in the future. :)
Damn straight Tony! ????
Chivalry is dead for good reason. Women are not better than us, we are all human beings and thus I hold doors open for anybody and everybody, but I only OPEN doors for disabled people.
lol @ Mississippi.
Live in the Deep South, it's not even a question. Unless I'm with one of those independent types that makes a point out of beating you to the door.
Open the door for all ladies all the time!
Like my momma taught meh!
Actually I think it might be a she…
mississippi is just doing everything wrong lately
I hold the door open for people in general. So opening the car door for my wife and when we were dating was not to hard.
Just treating then equal!
Oh wait I know why he said that, he's from Mississippi!
Mississippi might be retarded
How is that old fashioned?
That the opposite of old fashioned! An old fashioned person would hold open the door and be polite, and wouldn't try to get in their pants. That's the most disgusting comment I've ever heard! Be a gentleman, like me.
I try to do stuff for them, but if they want to do it themselves, I let them.
That's because you haven't been down south ;)
No were not.
Call me old fashioned, but the only thing I'm holding open is their legs.
I might consider holding open a door... but only if it leads to a kitchen or a laundry room.
Careful there @Mr.Spock. They may consider your post an accolade, and be further encouraged!
Notice the question said men look how many women answered
Mississippi: It's not cute anymore. Getting a little annoying. ????
Well said sir.
I believe all the under 21 males are lying. I never see a young guy treat a girl like a lady.
I open it enough to remind them I appreciate them, but not so much to treat them as if they are helpless.
I'm back, I had to post this too. Women need to figure out if they want to be treated like a lady, all the time or none of the time. This riding the fence based on what benefits them at that particular moment, and then expecting men to "guess" what times are which. Keep me posted, I got stuff to do.
Treating a woman like a lady is ok sometimes, but do it other times and you're sexist. Screw the games, I know how to open a door, and chances are...
So does she.
Women's lib... Open your own damn door, I'll pay for dinner.
Looking at some of these comments, I guess chivalry is just about dead? I am 60 and my Mom taught me how to be a gentleman! Not to get laid, not to impress, but to be polite! Someone also mentioned, I hold the door for all if I am the first to get there?
I don't remember when I didn't open doors for girls, whether a "date" or complete strangers. My main downfall is I'm not so big on the car door thing, and I don't pretend to give it a thought. I'm awful! (They always tell me that, later!)
What is it with Mississippi lately?
Of course! I would still have my virginity otherwise :)
Yes. If you don't, she'll get all pissed off..
