In 100 years from now, will the human race treat the environment with more respect than we currently are, or with the same/less respect?

We will be forced as a society, or a as a whole to do drastic changes to the environment. If we want to stay alive as a species on this planet we need to Chang our greedy ways. Our oceans are dying. Our bees are dying. We need to change now before its too late!!

This is an excellent question. Hopefully we find a more efficient way to harvest energy by then. Something other than fossil fuels.

What's wrong with fossil fuels? As long as they're regulated as to not cause too much pollution, they're better than solar and wind because they're more readily available.

Maybe the EPA will be eliminated in 100 years

We've become more aware of the environment and have become more protective of it over the last hundred years or so. As improvements in technology make it easier to be environmentally responsible, I'd expect the trend to continue. Population control will be the next big environmental challenge.

Nothing like a shortage to change our perspectives.

Individual people might not have time for it, but that is where government is suppose to act.

The government doesn't need to take responsibility for its people's actions. The people need to take control of its actions and its government.

Within 100 years we will see a global game changer. That alone will lead to more respect

Now adays, it is borderline worship for some people. There will always be differences. But in general, less respect in 100 years is what I'm thinking.

A lot of scenarios go through my head for this question but to be optimistic , I would like to hope that in that amount of time we would have learned to live closer to Mother Earth .

Some humans, but not all humans.

I'll be optimistic and assume that some things will have gotten so bad and so obvious to even the naysayers that we will have HAD to, literally clean our act up by then. That doesn't exactly sound optimistic, but the alternative is so much worse.

I don't see anything getting better anytime soon, sadly

It seems like it's all talk and no action. We've made some innovative things; however, the more of an industrialized society we've become, the less care to the environment we will demonstrate.
