Are you a "prepper"?
I live in earthquake country and we have substantial bug out bags. I can see Katrina like circumstances and we're moderately prepared, but nothing crazy.
I have go bags to get out... But nothing über nuts...
I don't prep for the apocalypse, but I do believe something major economically will happen for the worst
I would like to see this as two different polls. Are you preparing for natural events (non-apacalypic) and Are you preparing for the end of the world/apocalypse
Not because I actually think the apocalypse is going to happen in my lifetime I just think it is a fun hobby
Mormons are peepers by nature.
Here we just prepare for a fast get-a-way bag for fires and we prepare for "The big one".
We have been slowly putting together an emergency kit. It's good to be prepared. A tornado could hit at any time. That tornado in Hattiesburg (my home town) was such a shock. Thankful there were no casualties!
Oh, when you put it like that, I guess so. Not here in the northeast, but when I lived in tornado alley, I had a bag I could quickly grab before running to find shelter.
Big time. I have control issues.
My pocket knife has a pocket knife.
What's your favorite knife brand chile?
SOG and Gerber, but basically any well crafted knife makes me happy. Some people are gun nuts, I am moving into the entry level knife nut.
How about you morelove?
Not in the sense of being prepared for the zombie horde, but in the sense of being prepared for any likely natural disaster scenario. We keep enough food, water, and gas for the generator to do a week of being isolated and without power comfortably, and have the gear to walk out if needed.
In my head I am, I just haven't had the available funds to do what I'd like to do.
Dollar store. That's where we started.
Yes, but I don't plan (or hoping to act out some fantasy) for the end of the world. Instead, just to be prepared, dealing with supplies and inventory casually. It's not at the top of my priority list, but still important to do.
^ this is the best answer
Where I live we have to deal with floods, tornadoes, and snowstorms. This winter our powerlines were knocked out by heavy snowfall and we were out of power for 3 days.
I don't prep for the apocalypse, but I do prep for anything between naturally occurring inconvenience to home destroying disaster
Yeah, me too. Well stated.
Same here. It's not an apocalypse we prepare for.
I can barley keep the fridge stocked with the things I am supposed to have...much less 400 containers of potted meat.
At first I didn't know what a prepper was, but after reading some of the comments, I think I understand. Um, no, I'm not one.
No, but I like to watch the show. ????
Just 10 days worth of food and water.
Not really "prepping".
We do prepare for common natural disasters such as hurricanes, but we are not preppers in the sense of preparing for the end of the world. I choose not to worry or live in fear.
I have a list...it's too long though.
And if you don't know what a B.O.B. is then of course you aren't a prepper ????
Bug out bag
