@Austrian Do you ever NOT talk about proving political and philosophical points? I've never seen you comment on the fun/pointless questions. You're always serious and to the point. Come on…comment on something. "Why so serious?!" And why are you always up until 4 am?!

My point is that there is nothing to connect the for-profit model to high costs or low efficiency. That's too simple of an assessment. There is a logical link between government involvement and higher costs in the US. This is from 1993 and is even more relevant today: tinyurl.com/ct6szy

Austrian...again, you are repeating talking points that ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THE DATA! you are going to have to come to terms, at some point, that

That's right…once you take science out of it I can handle my own turf. This is after all a 14 year olds area of expertise. Although Austrian doesn't seem like the street smart type…

It isn't the for-profit aspect that is the deciding factor. We have actually made our health care more expensive by having all the regulations we have instead of just having a free market. A non-for-profit system gives no incentive to innovate, give choice, serve effectively, or not be like Canada.

Austrian...again, you have to rectify that position with the facts. the reality is the exact opposite of what you are saying is the case.

Anyway, the government involvement is precisely what drives up the costs of healthcare. That's our problem. As it is now, people have no incentive to take care of themselves because their employer or the government say they will take responsibility for them.

Austrian...trust me....when you have a baby, you won't be worried about the concept of freedom. you're only going to care about that baby and the quality of care available.

then we're back to the topic of standard of lving. and again, my point is that the evil 'socialist' word has some serious merits to it.
