Do you have the time between Christmas and New Year's off of work/school?
Dont get Christmas or New Years off. The week between is out of the question.
Sure does!! We EARNED THAT ADVANTAGE. And I for one wont apologize for it!
Yes, but I'll be working from home. Had to take the vacation days or lose them. At least ill be at home working. Worked 2.5 out of my 3 vacation days last week too, one going into the office. Lol
I am a nurse. So no
My word! Mississippi is the only southern!
I'm a stay at home mom, this week is my 'overtime'! Hehehe
So I did the daycare!!! Lord have mercy on either me or those children. I certainly like my son's idea of duct taping kids to the wall I did survive I only had 12 kids but I've had 17 in an evening and it wasn't like last night!!
Work, no. School, yes.
I'm a stay at home mom. If anything I work more during holidays and times when school is out.
Must be nice... I have a day off in between. After New Years I'm taking time off though.
Susan, you and I think the same on this. I don't care so much about the ideology. It's the illogic that gets to me!
One other thing ... You can email Tony directly at email@example.com
Also, I recall that Tony was going to implement something, where a few questions may be targeted to a certain demographic. For example, "women only" might be one. I'm not sure if he is doing that now.
Takes years of hard work and paying dues to get there.
Gotta love college. My finals finished December 11th and my first class next semester is January 22nd.
I love Colorado/Wyoming.
Well, my place of work is always closed on Sundays, so I'll be off on this Sunday. Does that count?
Back in the salt mines. Countin' down to 2013!
Follow-up on "Django Unchained":
If you like, or are a fan of Quentin Tarantino, you will definitely dig this flick. If you didn't really care about Tarantino-style flix, you will NOT be a convert. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was, perhaps, the fastest 2 hrs. 45 mins. of my life!
No but all of the "important" salaried people seem to be able to not show up for two weeks straight. Must be nice.
Yes but only because I saved my vacation time.
I only have to work New Year's Eve, but I could have taken it off.
chi, being a full-time mom isn't a paying job in the conventional sense but it's sure WORK. And when everyone else gets a break from their JOB on holidays etc, the mom is still doing the same WORK as every other day (usually), & likely more.
I imagine people who make comments like this do so mainly to get people riled up & watch them make a fuss (same as folks who name call) & are probably best ignored. It's the ILLOGIC of stuff like this that annoys me, not the actual difference in opinion, and it's hard for me not to react to that.
salli, do you have the same categories checked as your husband? Do you know where to find that? I know where for iPhone & iPad but not the others. And when I checked just now to see what it looked like, I found I had only 2 checked & was missing some polls! I know *I* did not uncheck them!
School but not work
Are used to do that work here in Oregon I really loved it.
Tony, why don't I have the same questions as my husband? Doesn't this make the polls biased?
I'm a mom to 18 cats and 4 dogs ... 24/7/365.
Yeah the weekend
Nope, semiconductor manufacturing.
Worked thanksgiving, Worked Christmas, work new years eve.
I wish! I've had it before and it's wonderful!
By the way, the percentages are equal now, at 66% each.
School yes, work no.
Accordin to Weatherman: Sounds like your wish is on its way in the next day or two
I always take this time off every year. After this I will will very busy until another brief slow down in July. Peace be with everybody.
I work in a dental office this is one of the busiest times for us. Xmas eve worked half a day with more emergencies than Carter has little pills. Same thing today
It isn't? What makes it "not a job" when a mom is doing basically the same thing as me, just 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year?
I work tomorrow and 1/2 a day Friday. Have to finish up end-of-the-year stuff.
Yep, whoami, I'm responsible for that. For better or worse. Maybe I should submit the question to Tony and see what happens. =:-)
I'm in Colorado/Wyoming boarding for the next week! Love to be my own boss.
Stay at home mom is not a job. Working parents have to get up early with their kids too.
Full time mom is not a job.
No. I don't work on a Monday-Friday basis. I work 3-4 days a week, and the days aren't predetermined, so I don't know when I work until I get my monthly schedule. In fact, I actually had to work on Christmas Day yesterday. :(
The way it's looking I will, but I'm hoping it will get colder so the ski area I work at can open.
I agree with dream, fly, Susan and retired. It's so annoying, when routine questions like this one degenerate into politics.
I think it was Susan who said, a few days ago ... We could get the question, "Do you like oatmeal" and somebody would turn it into politics.
I'm a stay-at-home mom so I both have the week off and don't. Just like every other day.
Doopy, that sounds interesting but also very challenging.
