Was there ever a situation in your life where you believed you escaped certain death?
A few instances. Back in 1999, flipped my truck and rolled a few times. Just a scratch on my head, and few bruises. Seatbelt worked, plus greater powers at hand.
Manfredonia, Italy. Walking in an ally, a motorcycle comes speeding at me like a bat out of hell and nearly hits me.
Do you freeze, or jump out the way?
Good question Jack. I wish I had an exciting story to share but I don't.
I was hiking on a ridge with family when I was a kid, and hit a patch of loose gravel. I started sliding, but a friend of the family grabbed hold of me at the last moment. The gravel slope there soon turns to a 300 foot vertical drop on to house-sized boulders.
Very near, but not certain. So it doesn't count.
I'll start it off.
My friends and I were target shooting at my buddy's place. We were shooting at metal plates with some rocks near the backstop. When my friend was shooting, a bullet must have ricocheted off the rocks and whizzed by my left ear. Sounded like a supersonic bumble bee!
I was lucky.
Lucy you only realized it after it occurred.
Yeah, I guess by luck I escaped after the fact.
