Show of Hands

Planning an “out west” trip starting in Salt Lake City. 2 options: A) stay North (NV, ID, WY; or B) go South (NV, CA, AZ). Big destinations either Grand Teton for Grand Canyon. Which route should be take?? Any suggestions welcome!
