Walmart is being sued after a mass-slaying in August killed 22 shoppers. Plaintiffs contend that it did not do enough to protect its customers. Since the 2nd Amendment is sacrosanct, does it fall to stores to protect us from killers while we shop?

Walmarts slogan isn't "To Protect and To Serve"

I don't think it does fall to the store but I would like to see the specific grounds for the lawsuit. It is also interesting that it's all Mexican citizens filing and no one from the US when people on both sides of the border were killed.

Walmart has 4 of them, what's your point?

No. The lawsuit is a Mexican lawsuit and will be thrown out.

Again, you fail to explain the full story to push a false narrative.

Not a false narrative, it was a prompt for a question. Just because the shoppers were Mexican doesn’t mean it’s not a valid and growing issue issue. Your Republican values are showing again.

The lawsuit is from the Mexican government. It has no bearing on out laws.

We’re talking different things. I’m not Republican. You should know that by now.

Great, I get to look forward to bouncers and pat downs at every QuikTrip, grocery store, and movie theater I go to because of all the shooters. Thanks for nothing.

Given the series of mass shootings at Walmart stores they definitely need to do something to increase security. I’m not sure in this instance Walmart could have done anything to protect their customers. They could call the police but Walmart doesn’t hire security officers.

As far as I know, walmart isn’t a gun free zone. I don’t know how they could possibly be held liable. Easy way to get a nice settlement though.

Read the signs on the doors window before you go in. Walmart stores that I’ve been to have signs posting do not bring concealed handgun’s in. The only ones who may carry firearms are law-enforcement

I guess the policy is different here in Arkansas. I’ve seen a few people open carrying pistols.

If Walmart prohibits firearms in its stores then they have a duty to provide protection. Otherwise their custodial burden is much lower.

Yes I agree when someone says I can’t have my pistol to protect myself then they need to provide protection

If Walmart banned customer concealed carry in their stores, then they should be held liable. I don’t believe Walmart bans concealed carry.

They have a sign in front of their store about not bringing firearms into the store concealed or not unless you are a policeman

Last I heard Walmart banned open carry, not concealed. Whatever, our local Walmarts have no such signs.

Lawsuit should immediately be thrown out.

Not enough guns. Walmart would have been a lot safer if they had issued every shopper an AR-15 with at least 3 fully loaded magazines when they walked into the store.

Great sale on Kevlar underwear on Aisle 2.

More guns make people safer right? I’m giving everyone in my family an ar-15 for Christmas & 1,000 rounds of ammo. Talk about some good bonding fun!

Not in Ohio. Carrying while black will get you shot by LEO in 4 seconds. Even if the gun was a BB gun for sale 3 aisles over.

Great question. If the store is a gun free zone and leaves you defenseless, then they should provide armed security. Similar to the airport. But if they’re not a gun free zone then the people should be able to conceal carry and protect themselves.

And that’s why the psycho targeted that Walmart at the border. Most were illegal and cannot have a gun. But now Walmart is asking not to carry in their stores.

Most people don't own guns period.

What? In what world? Not in America. You're in the minority if you don't have a gun.
