We have this many school shootings because there are too many kids who are being socially isolated, rejected and bullied.
That is part of the problem but that applies to kids all around the globe. Americans must be just more homicidal by nature I guess. What else could it be besides the fucking obvious?
I agree that those things you mentioned are factors but I think its more because we don't do enough to teach them how to deal with that stuff. Instead we try to teach them that it shouldn't happen to them and they should feel sorry for themselves when it does.
Those are factors but it’s far more complicated than just that.
It's mostly poor parenting or lack of it
Kids have always been socially awkward, isolated and bullied. They haven’t always shot up their school.
School sucks. Kids suck. Nothing changes.
Kids are nasty because their parents are nasty, or they don’t care, or the kid is merely a tax write-off to them, or the parents themselves have hidden issues.
Kids *learn* to be nasty, they aren’t born that way.
Neglected by parents, violent video games, TV shows and movies.
Kids have ALWAYS been socially isolated, intimidated, and bullied.
That and they have easy access to guns.
Early exposure to the joys of modern firepower.
No better access than I had. 12 gauge shotgun, 2 boxes of shells for my 14th birthday. We all had guns for hunting and never shot people.
These slayings aren’t occurring with hunting rifles and shotguns. You can’t get the body counts with those.
I grew up around hunting weapons, two, and you would’ve been laughed back to the truck if you couldn’t hit your target with 3 shots (at most). So why do you need these ridiculous 20 round magazines? It’s dickswinging, and it’s costing lives.
