Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has declared that that Israeli settlements in the West Bank do not violate international law. Good decision?
Those Israeli bought and paid for their homes. It is not a crime.
No, it’s not a good decision. Israeli settlements in occupied territory patently violate international law and by condoning this we are weakening the rules-based international order that has prevented wars of conquest since WWII. How can we credibly oppose Russia’s territorial ambitions in Ukraine when we endorse Israeli expansionism?
Yes a good decision, but that is not what they did. They returned America to our policy prior to John Kerry changing it in 2015, to being neutral. Our position is now , back to, neutral about the settlements - letting Israel and Palestinians decide.
I mean.... It objectively does though.
In other news he has declared that the Trail of Tears was a good exercise program.
Before you get snarky, learn the truth
Palestinians are actually Israelis. Palestine has ceased to exist as a nation.
Actually, it never existed as a nation.
Palestinians are mostly Jordanians
Yes, but they are NOT "settlements." They are merely Israeli building projects on Israeli land. 🇺🇸 🇮🇱
Do you mean it’s not illegal for Jews to live in the West Bank?
Way to state the obvious. Haha
