In general, Americans take politics too seriously or not serious enough?
They take politics too seriously, and have no clue about civics.
That explains why clowns get elected. 😜
If I never saw political humour I’d say too seriously. But it’s actually becoming increasingly difficult for me to find the right talking about things on principal and more and more avenues are getting shut down for me to actually get the conservative opinion because... memes are just the best thing riiiiiiight? Most of the conservatives here have been wonderful, but elsewhere it just devolves into trolling so fucking quickly and it’s making me stop asking for the conservative opinion bit by bit
If they took it seriously they could explain their position, most cannot.
How seriously are we supposed to take a bunch of entrenched millionaires who pretend to argue about things but are actually friends behind the scenes?
People on this app: too seriously
General public: not serious enough
They don’t take politics seriously, AT ALL.
They are COMPLETELY wrapped around the axle about partisanship.
A good many Americans don’t even pay attention to politics at all, let alone take it seriously. Then you have some that pay attention during important periods like Presidential elections (those are like the people who go to church once a year on a Christmas) Then there are a small minority of people who are political junkies.
Well said, I agree.
