Can you believably speak in an accent other than your own?
I can go southern, different versions of it.
Yes. I'm an actor.
No, but I can make appropriate sounds in several different languages, sounds that are difficult for many Americans. Examples: Rolling of r’s in Spanish, properly pronounce “Ich” in German, “shi” in Chinese, etc.
That’s what I do well, also. 😊
If you ever get out to Virginia, we have to meet. I’m always feeling like we have so much in common.
I have thought that about us, too. 😊
Where are you at so I know to alert you if I’m ever heralded out to your state? Utah?
No, I’m in central Texas.
Ah, Texas. Good state. I have several friends in Texas.
Yes. This past week, in Mexico, I was told that my Spanish speaking skills were very good. They mistook me for a native a couple of times.
I think I may have misunderstood the question. I don’t try to do other accents in English.
¡es excelente! También me felicitaron por mi español, pero no soy lo suficientemente fluido para que nadie piense que soy un hablante español.
Yes. I can sound like a Japanese person trying to speak English. I heard it many times in Japan and am very fluent in it. 😄
Yes, a southern one and if I hear someone talking that way I slip right into it.
I can sound exactly like my dad who has a Hungarian accent:). I speak fluent Hungarian as well
A Dominican baseball player.
Nope. I'm terrible at things like that.
Fun question though.
Given that Iowa is the center of the universe, I speak with no accent. Having lived and world around the world, I can recognize other accents, but I can’t speak them convincingly.
Maybe a British accent but it's too oily to tell chap.
Of course, I can whip up a German accent.
"You know ve haff vays to make you tok and vill soon know oll your secrets. Hans, tekk ze current up to vun amp. Vill you like pen?"
I use to watch the Cisco Kid and Poncho. I mimic them pretty good.
