If JFK wasn’t assassinated and was president for 8 years, would he have faced a Marylin Monroe Sexual Affairs Scandal SIMILAR to the Clinton-Lewinsky Scandal?
No, Republicans weren't so petty, desparate, and hypocritical back then.
Well he was gone in 3 years in 8 its a possibility..if she somehow said something he told her in confidence and it somehow affected the country..it could have turned into a bad mess.
No. She was a willing partner to JFK.
Unlikely. They allowed presidents more privacy back then. The first smear campaign I remember was a paperback book sent to our house by the Republicans about how immoral it was for Lyndon Johnson to skinny dip in the White House swimming pool.
Possible-but more likely successfully covered up.
No, the media would look the other way, and political opponents living in glass houses don’t like to throw rocks.
No he was the golden boy. Everyone loved him.
1960s no. 2010s yes.
No blue dress!
Would have prevented the closet commie LBJ from pushing his far left agenda on America.
JFK literally had the same agenda dude. The New Frontier, which was the progressive domestic agenda put forward by Kennedy, was literally all what LBJ’s Great Society domestic agenda put forward. JFK wanted a Welfare State just like LBJ.
Both of them are literally progressives. Both the New Frontier and Great Society pushed for Universal Healthcare, Expansion of Aid & Subsidies to Public Education, increase in Food Stamps, Minimum Wage, and social security, and so on
Lol! Not back then.
And, Marilyn was just one of many.
No he’s a democrat. The only type of privilege there is.
Clinton suck a cigar in an intern’s vagina and remained president...like c’mon guys.
My God! We are all lucky to still be alive 😱
Pfft no. He was a democrat
There was a really good Radiolab podcast on Gary Hart that talked about this. Things changed by the 80s for politicians and elections. One, after Watergate, people were more critical of politicians and what much of the press was turning a blind eye to.
Second, the press covering JFK was predominantly male. It was one big Boys Club. By the 80s and 90s, there was a much greater female presence covering politics (and in politics) and that dramatically changed the mood and coverage.
They wouldn’t have cared
It was a different time, and the press covered for him. Everyone covered for him.
