I guess so. I’ll probably wear a jacket if I go outside for an extended period.

Yes, I bought a pair of socks just in case. πŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈ

Remember to bring your pets indoors during extreme cold!! Many have suffered immensely and perished as a result of being left outside.

As a Russian, you probably make snow angels wearing shorts and t shirt.

No but there is no chance that cold wave is going to hit southern California. I do hope those it will impact our prepared and stay warm.

Always prepared..never took the snow shovel, winter coat, winter boots, scarf, hat, gloves or snow melt out of the trunk of the car..its Minnesota so any kind of weather can happen on any kind of day in Minnesota.

11/12/19 11:09 pm

Yes, I have my winter flip flops ready and heavier shorts.

Not in sunny Southern California!

This weather is insane!! Down to 12 and the wind chill makes it lower. We could use a little of that global warming now!!

It gets cold every year about this time. Also the leaves fall off the trees.

Depends where you live.
For South Florida, it's not always the same but depends on whether the cold fronts stall or get through to us.
This first one is not expected to get through.

Here in NorthWestern NJ it is cold. Snow is inevitable. But I like it cool. I could never get used to heat. Might be in the teens tonight.

Nah. We're supposed to be in the 70s and 80s for the next week. A week from tomorrow, rain and 68. Hopefully I remember my umbrella.

It’s 13° outside right now. The fireplace and heat are in full effect, and it’s nice and warm. So yes, I am ready.

It’s already hit AL, which was under a freeze warning starting yesterday. We’re in the 20’s at night and the 40’s during the day. By the weekend, we’ll be back in the 60’s!

Btw, when it’s cold here, it FEELS a lot colder than it really is, due to our high humidity. For instance, when it’s 32 degrees, it feels like 21 degrees, due to 60% humidity.

There is nothing really to do to prepare. Just wear a heavy coat and gloves.

A typical preparation would be making your car winterproof (tires, antifreeze).

historylover Navy Seawolves

And making sure your water pipes won’t freeze. Warm place for all pets.

4JC Christian Pastors Wife
11/12/19 6:12 pm

We don’t have to do anything in those areas, praet, other than making sure the antifreeze is still good in the car.

We also don’t have to worry about pipes. We live in a mobile home, so they’re specially wrapped.

I’ll be arriving home on Friday and don’t have anything warm with me. After being in SE Asia for almost three months, though, I’m ready to feel the cold air.

If only it was 40 degrees here. It’s currently 16 degrees. It’s normally in the 40s this time of year. The all-time record low in my area of Wisconsin is -45°F set on January 30, 1951.

I've never seen anything below -5 (Stuttgart 1979) and found it brutal. Your snot freezes in the nose.
At -45, I'd want a space suit.

Lol well we have scarves, ski masks and snow suits. I don’t venture out when it’s that cold.
