When someone says Russian, which person are you more likely to envision? A. Blond or brown haired light-skinned Slavic-looking person. B. Black haired White person with some Asian features (due to Mongol influence).

A is many Russians. You have to go east and north to find indigenous people though not all of them are descendants of Mongolians.

The all dress up to go out, even if it’s to the store. Well, not all but many. My sisters used to put on makeup and fix their hair to take the left to the street level. I mean, honestly. It was nonsensical.

In all honesty, person B is what comes to mind when I think of a Russian. Person A is what comes to mind for a Belorussian and Ukrainian.

When I was in Moscow in the late nineties the women were beautiful. The city was really clean. I expected the worst and got the best.
