Obama’s weaponization of the IRS against his political foes is more in line with fascism/authoritarianism than any action Trump has taken in office.
Are we forgetting about detaining children? Trying to fund a wall without congressional approval? Attacking the system of the free press? Not even close.
1. Obama detained children too. We haven’t been allowed to hold children with their parents since the 90s. There are legitimate human trafficking concerns, and we can’t just release them on the street. They receive food, clothing and healthcare. All their needs are met, and after their idiotic/criminal parents dragged them thousands of miles across a desert to get here (which quite frankly should be classified as abuse), it’s basically a five star resort for them.
2. Congress approved the creation of a wall, trump is getting his funding from a variety of places but the precedent was set by Obama and Bush who’s powers expanded dramatically in response to the war of terror, and the later of whom was very famous for ruling with his pen and his phone when he couldn’t get Congress to pass his agenda. If you want to argue that the executive branch in general has too much power, fine I’m with you there. But it didn’t start with trump.
3. President trump has done NOTHING to attack the free press. Far less than Obama at least, who literally locked up his political opposition and had his guards manhandle a female reported who was trying to ask him questions. Obama only had Fox News to complain about, and boy god he complain. All other network treated him as the second coming, but that didn’t stop him from blaming fox for everything.
Trump has dealt with the most hostile press in history. Well over 90% of coverage on him has been negative, when their vitriol has become destructive he has attempted to Revoke a couple press passes, and he calls out their BS at every opportunity. But I’d say that Is pretty tame based on the precedents his predecessor set.
His policies are deregulation, returning power to the people, and ending wars. The only item where he seeks significant government intervention is national security, which has been a role of government since the beginning.
The way they were treated in those camps was inhumane. Quite frankly, I don’t care if it happened under Obama — I didn’t vote for him. This is now. It’s not about Obama. It’s about right and wrong. That policy was wrong.
Congress did not approve the creation of the wall. President Trump made a sham emergency declaration, and has been moving DoD funds over. That’s not right. I’m glad we agree the executive branch is too powerful.
3. That is a downright lie. He has tweeted Gifs of them crashing and exploding, launched attacks against them, popularized “fake news” against anything that looks bad for him, among many other things. The disdain he has had for the press is disturbing.
What action has he performed - specifically the action....not his words.
Using the DOJ to investigate his enemies
Blocking congress from oversight
Didn’t Obama do that to Trump too??? Lol. 🤣🤣🤣
Perhaps not the oversight part - but executive privilege was established for a purpose....
Oh wait he did:
So do these actions make Obama a dictator or authoritarian???
Congressional oversight was established for a purpose too. I don’t care about Obama. He’s no longer president. He wasn’t a criminal either.
So it was ok when he was in power but now it’s not? Ok - got it!
That’s not what I said and you know it. Using a Obama to justify Trump? Pathetic
Your the one laughing at the questions assertion then tried to prove it by arguing on the actions of Trump all the while Obama did it himself.
Trying to say Obama wasn’t an authoritarian, all the while asserting that Trump is is preposterous, actions mean things.
President trump is returning power to the people. Obama took that power away.
Yep. This was never a scandal.
You’d think if all these people would just read & educate themselves, maybe their anger would be mitigated in a return to sanity.
Why did he fire this guy?
That’s for certain !
