Nope. In fact a teacher that age can have a very positive influence because they have the possibility of being more relatable.

Any person with proper teaching credentials for teaching high school is old enough to teach high school.

At first I put yes, but then remembered that hubby was pastoring a church at 19, and I was 17. But we were VERY mature at that age.

I think it’s fine as long as the person is mature enough to have control of the classroom and discipline problems, and is mature enough to make sure that there are no sexual relationships with the students, since they’re so close in age to the students.

It really depends on the person. Certain people that would do well in an elementary school would be eaten alive in a high school. It’s unfortunate, but looks DO play a part in it. If you are young, have a baby face, and don’t have a very commanding presence, high school probably isn’t the place for you right now.

But obviously others could go into a high scchool straight out of college and have no problem.

I started at 25. Seemed fine for me. Lol but it took a few months for the parking lot attendant to realize I wasn't a student.

I taught at HS at 23. I did some middle school teaching when I was 22.
