Foster care agencies could soon turn away prospective foster parents because they are gay or trans, thanks to a rule proposed by the Trump administration on Friday.
I love it how Trumplicans are so "pro life" but they're so quick to refuse the right to adopt those same babies.
Because nothing says ‘pro life’ more than denying kids responsible parents and a safe home
It’s interesting that Republicans call these people “mentally ill,” then support known pedophiles like Roy Moore, and rapists like Donald Trump.
If they are trans they definitely should turn them away. Mentally/emotionally unstable people should not have fosters kids who often already have issues of their own.
Just because they remove it, doesn’t mean they can’t consider it but a Catholic agency should be able to turn away a couple that does not meet their criteria. So yes, it’s religious freedom.
Does religious freedom mean the rights of others are taken away?
No but forcing a catholic family to foster transgender children or forcing a catholic charity to accept transgender foster parents, it is taking away the rights of that organization and those families.
I didn’t say I agreed with it. I said, it is a freedom of religion issue.
It’s a bit like demanding a priest, cleric or orthodox rabbi, marry same sex couples. It’s a religious freedom issue to me.
For Catholic based foster agencies. That’s part of their faith as it’s been for centuries.
Regular foster agencies haven’t changed.
gay bad idea
They are a cruel administration
Because being in the system is better than being in a stable, loving home?
They don’t care
My daughter was in a stable 10 yr relationship. She is gay. They literally saved a young woman’s future through their loving, strict and compassionate treatment of this young lady. I offer this as a personal example of why this is a bad idea. I don’t talk much about my daughter, but I’ll make an exception this time :)
That’s beautiful. God bless your daughter and her partner.
