Yes. You can’t get a signal and the battery goes dead fast because it’s searching continuously. But it’s fun to airdrop memes to unwitting people in the cabinπ
Pilot is right. Not sure what anymore. It used to interfere with our nav on our older DC9’s. I’m not sure what if anything it does to GPS. Since everyone leaves their phones on, and nobody has gotten lost, it may not be a factor anymore.
Yes. To save battery because I’m not going to be using it for anything but music. Plus, plummeting back to earth is the method of death that I fear the most. I pretty much do what they tell me too even though I know it won’t make a difference.
Yes because if not your pilot is getting annoyed at the static noise your phone is causing him to hear on his headset. I don’t like upsetting the people flying my plane.
Yeah, but I’d still be away from home. The few times we’ve gone on vacation, I was counting down the time until I’d get back home. It doesn’t take long for my battery to drain. But it takes a very long time for me to recharge.
If there was any serious threat of electronics or cell signals interfering with avionics: 1)no electronic devices would be allowed on airplanes and b) thousands of planes would have crashed by now.
