So far we have been sitting here wringing our hands while China floods the US with drugs like fentanyl that often come through Mexico, and that kill tens of thousands of Americans. Drugs, gangs, and cartels at our border are a huge safety issue. We can also see the results of lawlessness. When there isn’t strong peace keeping force gangs and cartels will take over. You don’t want police? This is what you get.

If I were Mexico, I would release El Chapo’s dog before this really gets out of hand.

They were burnt alive. Women and babies. There are no bodies left. These people are beyond evil.

The solution to tragic gun violence is thoughts & prayers. Then sell more guns.

Mexico already has stringent gun laws.
How would changing US gun laws affect Mexican cartels.

US druggies help the cartels everyday though. It’s disgusting that so many Americans need crutches to live their lives. They are self-centered fools.

Did I say “guns bad!”
I asked a legitimate questions. You can do better than that.

This is much more than a gun violence problem and you know that.

This is organized crime perpetuated by corrupt animals in Mexico. We could ban every type of gun here in America and it would have little affect on them because of their power & endless operating budget.

My honest non snarky opinion? This is a horrible tragedy perpetuated by evil criminals. I would say stop visiting Mexico for one....it’s been off my list for a decade. Second...the US has had over 350 mass shootings so far this year. www.gunviolencearchive.org. While it’s great that everyone seems concerned about this violence.....until we get our own shit together I think we need to leave other countries alone.

This is not an either/or situation. We can condemn mass shooters here AND in other countries, simultaneously.

I disagree about leaving Mexico alone. The minute these cartels killed 9 American citizens (including 6 children), it became our business and duty to act.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t act. I am saying we do something about the 350 mass shootings in America first.

There are a lot of us, you know.
We can do more than one thing at a time.
Refusing to address one set of problems because another set of problems exists is a logical fallacy. And it’s not practical.
How about we cease all discussion on shootings until all climate issues are fixed?
But maybe before we address any climate issues, we should fix homelessness.
Then again, how can we, as a nation, seriously address homelessness when a major cause of homelessness, substance addiction, is not completely addressed?
However, mental illness is an even bigger problem facing the homeless, so we’ll all fix that first.
Then again...I could do this all night.

Hey - why bother fixing any problems when we’re all dead in 11 years anyway 😄

It would kill the cartels. We tried a war on drugs, it failed and it grew the cartels. Let’s take their business away and starve them out.

As bad as they are, I'm not sure that's what the US or Mexico wants. The drug war has been a failure for years and it could've been successful. It leads one to ask why it has been such an utter failure and the conclusions you can draw are numerous. One is, a great deal of money is filtered through that drug war that people don't want other people knowing about.

Yes, these deaths are tragic as are most deaths related to the cartels.

Sorry, I am not trying to enable the drug culture but I am suggesting there is a huge amount of money in the underground economy and reasons people have not stopped cartels. I don't believe for one minute that the United States could not have wiped them off the face of the planet if that was the goal. While I agree good men and women need to do something, I don't think the US government or the Mexican government agrees with me.
