Have you ever changed the oil in a car yourself?
I used to. Don't really have a convenient place to do it right now and the savings isn't enough to justify finding a place to do it.
Many times. I still change the oil on my older truck, but bring the newer Tacoma to the dealer while it’s under warranty...don’t any service ambiguities in case there’s a mechanical problem.
Make that “don’t want...”
My first couple of cars yes, these newer cars, nope
Yes, but it’s getting harder to do on some cars. My 1991 Nissan Sentra had a filter so low I had to jack up the car to get to it from below. Now, I just let the dealer do the oil changes..
I quit servicing my cars when I turned 60.
Cars of the 50s & 60s were fun to work on, but expanding emission controls took the fun out of it.
If my math is correct this makes you approximately 125 years old. Give or take.
Only if he was 0 when he was working on cars...
To help you out, I quit servicing my cars when I turned 60 in 2001. Plenty of time to work on cars built in the 50s & 60s.
From 2001 to today I no longer service my cars myself. That would make me 78 years old, which I am and not 125 as you suggest.
I said approximately bro
Wow math not your strong suit..
I have not. I know how to check it, but I have no clue how to change it.
You just take out the dipstick, turn the car upside down until some of most of the oil drains out, then fill with oil. Basic car maintenance really.
😂🤣😂 I know better. I can handle construction, because that was dad‘s forte, but not car stuff, because it was not his forte.
I have never had someone else change my oil!
Have you ever been intoxicated before 5PM?
Lol meant to post that as a poll wtf

What are ya saying there, Schlitz?
It's ok Schiltz, that statement actually works in this case. 😉
Never had a car so no
Yes but not worth it anymore. My car goes 10,000 miles between oil changes. Not worth the mess.
When I was young and poor.
Back in the day, I changed the oil, filters, plugs & points before electronic ignitions🤗‼️
Cars, bikes, truck, tractor, motorhome, mower, pretty much all of them at least once, and all but a few of the cars every time the oil and filter change is due. It’s a little easier, quicker, and not much more expensive to stop in at the Express Lube place and let them do it, if I happen to be in the city at about the time an oil change is due. Not worth a special trip though, since I don’t really mind changing it myself, and almost always have the oil and filters on hand.
No but my husband use to when younger.
I’ve added oil but not changed the oil.
Made both of my children learn when they started driving. My daughter has told me before that in her groups she is often the only one who has, including the young men
That's very respectable. Good for you and her! 👍
I can’t afford a car so public transportation for me!
Not lately but always in the past.
Yes, with Mobile 1 always. Not so much now though but doing that and changing the filter is no big deal.
I have not, however my husband had so I said yes
Exclusively. That way I know it’s done right...using good quality oil & filter.
I did in my last car but I can’t figure out how to get the oil filter off my current truck. There isn’t enough space for the wrench to move. I take it to get done right now but will resume with next vehicle.
Yeah me too I let the dealer handle it these days.
No. I'm sure I could figure it out, but handling and disposing of the used oil is too much of a pain-in-the-ass to bother with.
You can just dump it down the nearest storm drain it doesn’t really even take that long.
