This article about pedophiles being “born that way” comes on the heels of the revelation that the elites in our Gov’t and around the world have been part of child trafficking and worse. Trying to normalize?

Being “born that way” does not make it normal or OK. Pedophiles probably are “born that way” (i.e. it’s not voluntary to have those urges). It’s still not OK to act on them or to feed that desire, in fact it doesn’t really change the moral calculus at all.

They may be born that way but it’s still not normal. Still need to be locked away for life.

You should read about Marc Dutroux abc the White March in Brussels in 1996. I mean, it’s astounding and that case reached all the way to the parliament but oddly, when parliament investigated itself, they found itself innocent. Color me gobsmacked.

This is also just an appeal to consequences fallacy. What happens if pedophiles really are born that way, kscott? You can accuse people of trying to normalize it all you want, but reality doesn’t care whether or not it’s “normalizing” something. So what, should we just avoid doing any research on the causes of pedophilia in case we come to uncomfortable conclusions? Should we pretend pedophiles aren’t born that way, even if all the evidence says they are? What exactly do you think should be done here?

Coincidentally, my local news ran a story last night about whether reformed pedophiles were safe in our community. A reformed pedophile was interviewed along with an expert in prison reform programs. Your article and similar studies were given an honorable mention. I’m not convinced despite the pedophile claiming he’s the safest member of the community.

Ferg ... failure never stops the left. Californians were forced to vote repeatedly in gay marriage, and in the end, when it failed the third time, an activist judge overruled the will of the people. The left isn’t interested in our republic, their only interested in imposing their will onto the rest of us.
