Sunset at 4 sucks. I wish they would leave the clock alone.
I hate Daylight Savings time ..its unnatural for it to daylight at 9pm
So just leave it alone right. Stop moving the time twice a year. It’s silly.
I’m glad that we don’t have to deal with renaming time in Arizona!
Try being in the autism community. Though honestly, I suppose being a pilot would be worse with time changes.
Well, it can really mess with you. But we don’t stay anywhere long enough to have to adapt.
I honestly couldn't care less. I know people get all worked up over it, but it doesn't really bother me.
It seems ridiculous that federal law allows states to opt out of DST, extending the four months of wrongness to cover the whole year, but doesn’t allow them to remain on DST for those four all three way wrong months. Apparently we are encouraged to "save", just not to "save" too much, or at all when it most matters.
I don’t understand. Nevada voted to stay on DST years ago. But never made the rule change. Are you saying that the Fed won’t let us change?
That is my understanding, that federal law currently allows opting out of DST, but not opting to stay on it. You'd think that would be a simple change for politicians in DC to make, but there has been no movement on it yet. I don’t know if the international agreement that established the time zones enters into it, but it shouldn’t.
Well that explains a lot. Nobody here can answer why we didn’t change.
"...261-264), as modified by the Act of March 4, 1921 (15 U.S.C. 265),
shall be advanced one hour and such time as so advanced shall for the purposes of such Act of March 19,1918, as so modified, be the standard time of such zone during such period; except that any State may by
law exempt itself from the provisions of this subsection providing for the advancement of time, but only if such law provides that the entire State (including all political subdivisions thereof) shall observe
the standard time otherwise applicable under such Act of March 19, 1918, as so modified, during such period.
(b) It is hereby declared that it is the express intent of Congress by this section to suj)ersede any and all laws of the States or political subdivisions thereof insofar as they may now or hereafter provide for
advances in time or changeover dates different from those specified in this section.
1921. Wow. The fed was already trying to subvert states rights.
It’s been amended a lot since then, but the basic idea of setting a standard that applies throughout the country still seems to be in there. I'd amend it to allow states to stay on DST, opt out of DST, or to switch like we do now, but do think if they are going to switch it should have to be on the standard dates. Actually, if it was up to me, we'd all use UTC, and would adjust our schedules to make it work as local time.
Thing is about Nevada is that we’re really far east of California to be in the same time zone. They actually move down the time zone line farther east to keep us in Pacific time. Our sun comes up almost a hour before San Francisco.
So we had stupid people in government way back then
Wow. What happened there?
We notice that a lot on road trips, whenever we stay close, on one side or the other, to the line. Being way east in a zone, like Las Vegas or Chicago, is probably the most inconvenient.
Well, the sun definitely comes up earlier. But it’s nice to get up early with the sun and drive west with the sun.
I like a thick overcast so the sun isn’t in my face no matter which way I’m going.
I know some states like Alabama have proposed changing to the next time zone. For example Alabama would go from central to eastern, I honestly think it would make sense for Nevada to be on mountain instead of Pacific.
I have minor anxiety driving at night. I hate it especially the two days a week I have an hour-and-a-half commute to work one way
You're so right. I despise it.
Well, you know that we just switched back to Standard Time, right? So if we didn’t mess with the time, this is what it would be anyway.
I would *greatly* prefer that we stayed on Daylight Saving Time, though - which is what I gather you meant anyway. I know there are arguments pro & con for all of the 3 possibilities, but I seriously hate it getting dark so early - and this is just the beginning.
I agree with. You. Just leave it on daylight savings. I hate driving home from work in the dark.

Exactly. What's the point of moving the clock?
Government wants to see how stupid everybody is and if the government said jump have the people ask how high
It's depressing and it's only going to get worse between now and December.
This is the regular time. If they left the clock alone, you would still have sunset at 4:00
I wouldn't. But I don't live in frostbite falls regardless, stop moving the clock. It doesn't help anyone.
And sunset is 5:37 in Miami today. It was perfect at 6:37. Why mess with it?
Or did I get that reversed?
See. Stop messing with the time
Yes, sunset was pretty early. But that’s the regular time. Maybe you want to permanently change the time to Daylight Saving time?
I do live in Frostbite Falls Mn and HATE daylight savings time.
Do you like it better in December when the sun sets really early?
Isn’t there where Rocky and Bullwinkle live?
Yes. We voted to keep Nevada on DST permanently. But the feds wouldn’t let us do it.
The daylight saving changes always make me miss living in Arizona where I didn’t have to deal with this disruptive nonsense.
I know. Isn't that great there? We're supposed to switch to Arizona time and stay on it. When is a good question.
Utah is also wanting to put staying on daylight time on the 2020 ballot. I sincerely hope they do!
Excellent. They voted to approve this years ago. I’m not sure why it was never enacted.
I would welcome both of you to my time! 🤗💜
Keep it one time all year, the need for daylight savings has passed
We here in Nevada just need to leave it on daylight savings time all year. We're pretty far south.
