Show of Hands

I binged watched “The Society” on Netflix (it’s weird btw), anyway, there was an Asian girl that was wearing a traditional cross (not crucifix or Orthodox cross) but just a cross...going sideways. Is that a common thing, Asian thing. I’m confused.
