If a person who has never experienced love asked you what it’s like, how would you describe it?

They are the first thought in your head in the morning and the last thought before you sleep.

when you find a long-term partner, it feels like you're home

It feels like you can just be yourself and share yourself. You’re not alone.

Girls can be cruel sometimes, especially in 8th Grade.

Thank you! Dating can be rough but people who hurt you teach you a lesson. You hopefully find someone that accepts you as you are and loves you unconditionally. Then it’s all been worth it. For after all it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have experienced love at all. β€οΈπŸ’•

I’m happily married now but I had three long term relationships before I met my husband. They were rough breakups. Each breakup got harder. I finally settled down.

What if they grew up in an abusive home?

Then that wasn't *home.* It was their house. It's a stupid and simple explanation but it's how I think about it. If I lived alone, I wouldn't experience the warmth and security that comes from coming home to people that I love.

Anyone with a pet would agree that their presence turns a house into a home.

I get what you’re saying but it’s hard for someone who has been abused by the people who are supposed to love them to understand.

I think a feeling of warmth and security works though. 😺

I understand what you are saying but I guess that fits with the fact that it's just a different feeling for everyone. I think it fills a different void for each of us.

If he/she grew up in an abusive home, then it would still be true... it would be in reference to the side effects of love lol

I would have to say that it's not an emotion or a feeling. You can feel in love or loved, but love, at its core, is an action and an outlook towards an individual. It is to place them above yourself.

It’s butterflies in your stomach, anticipation, excitement, euphoria, sunshine, happiness...to me at least. This is how I get about my husband still.
