Democrats falsely said that the booming Trump economy was all because of Mr Obama, and then we had a correction in October 2018, then they blamed that all on Mr Trump. The good news is that economy is on a run again, and it’s ALL MrT!

Borny ... freeing up businesses from the onerous Obama regulations that resulted in the repatriation of hundreds of billions of dollars, new plants opening and tens of thousands of jobs had plenty to do with MrT!

The demographics of this poll again show how out of touch Democrats are with reality. Everyone else gets it, only Democrats are so hysterical that they can’t admit the truth.

The booming economy is due to Obama. Anyone who says otherwise is deluded.

One of my favorite graphs, unemployment rate going down at the same rate since 2010.
Can you actually name anything trump is responsible for? Beyond the mess of the stock market?

Think Lovin Life
02/12/19 10:21 pm

Johon ... YES! MrT eliminates the business crushing moronic mountain of regulations that MrO created. By so doing, MrT unleashes a massive reinvestment in our economy by companies that had held hundreds of billions of dollars of their cash overseas to avoid the moronic Obama regulations.

Then MrT went about encouraging companies to repatriate high paying long term jobs with benefits to replace the pathetic low wage temp jobs that MrO was so proud of.

In addition, MrT pushed thru a massive tax cut that benefited hundreds of millions of workers, with millions of them receiving bonuses that they’d NEVER gotten before and yet millions of other received raises that they hadn’t seen throughout the entirety of the dark Obama years.

There is NO question that after the market correction that the huge increase in the booming market is ALL MrT.

Thanks again, MrT, for the roaring economy that the Nimwhit MrO couldn’t even dream of. It was MrO that said that 1% GDP was the “new normal”

Think, so please tell me what policies Trump implemented in 2010/2011 that created the downward trend in unemployment that is continuing today? Be specific and stay focused on only Trump's policies in 2010/2011.

Yikes, your lack of research is showing.
The economy is at the same rate as Obama’s, so deregulation changed nothing. Reinvestment is the same

Wages have been going down since Trump entered office so not sure where you heard that from.

The tax cut only helped the rich and hurt the economy and middle class. And this year many people are seeing returns go way down. If anything, the only thing the tax cut achieved is making out debt skyrocket (22 trillion reached today)

Market correction isn’t exactly in your favor, and shows trumps flaws. And it’s still fluctuating.

Trumps GDP still can’t reach Obama’s peaks in GDP. On average he is doing about the same as Obama.

Nice story, but on average most Americans don’t get your results. The IRS reporter an 8% decrease in tax returns. In some cases it because of less money being withheld, though in some cases it is because of loss of deductibles from Trumps tax bill. Not to mention that since less money is being withheld, tax returns get smaller and in many cases people would actually owe the government instead of getting a return, messing up their personal finances and budgeting.

Even if your point was valid, that still doesn’t answer for the many other example I posted on how Trump can thank Obama for a good economy. And there’s much more to show.

Think Lovin Life
02/13/19 4:52 pm

Johon ... pleEr continue to attempt to portray smaller returns as a bad thing! It’s a hoot to watch! The question isn’t how much of a return they are getting, as any honest person knows it is about the tax liability NOT the amount unnecessarily paid to and then returned from the government!

But please, continue the charade of dishonesty!!!

johonmilla Monroe, nc
02/13/19 5:50 pm

It amuses me that you ignore all of my other responses and only come back to jump off someone else’s arguments. Thank about dishonesty. You’ll probably still peddle “Obama’s economy didn’t play a role in our current economic success” despite the evidence.

Anyway, for taxes, you are aware 44% of the US pay no taxes, large majority of them with no tax liability. Some even with negative tax liability. For many Americans, tax returns may be higher than that withheld. Also, if tax liability decreases at a lesser amount that their deductibles, they end paying more even though their tax liability went down. Tax liability is only half of the story. You need to include tax filing/returns to complete the full picture. Otherwise you’re being dishonest.

My comment was more towards the guy without any argument, not you.

Anyway, can you actually point to where I flawed in my argument? You seem to think the a 500 page tax bill is a simply 5th math problem. That’s your flaw right there. You can have the same tax liability but get different amounts of returns if tax credits and dependency changes. Add on top of that changes in percentage and changes in tax brackets and the system gets more complex.

That’s great, except that not what’s happening on average according to the IRS. 8% dip in returns and decrease in tax credits and dependency (mainly in blue states) are what’s happening. Basically, people are paying about a bit less but are receiving much less than what the change in tax liability was.

johonmilla Monroe, nc
02/14/19 5:41 pm

Not only that, but the tax bill has increased the deficit, increased national debt even more (cutting taxes on the rich and increase defense spending is not a good combo), etc, so negatives of the bill extend beyond individual tax returns and payments.

The Presidents decisions DO affect the economy. More restrictions and regulations affect every person and every business. If your attitude as a President is that if we lose jobs to China or Mexico there is nothing they can do about it...then millions of jobs will go and all of us will suffer. If your attitude as the president is one that we are the greatest nation in the world and we have the greatest workers then businesses will be attracted to our country.

Agree with smart. The economy controls the president not the other way around. We The People control the economy. The president has a small amount of control, but it’s not immediate and is nowhere near the influence of consumerism, private industry, foreign markets, investors, etc.

Who was more responsible for the 90s boom... Bill Clinton or Silicon Valley?

There are dramatic changes in the economy when a president makes dramatic policy changes. Since you lefties will never admit when it happens under a Republican I will mention when the economic boom happened after JFK drastically cut taxes.

I’m not saying that Trump hasn’t had anything to do with the economy. (The tax cuts were like a night of cocaine for an economy that has been on a feel-good tour for almost a decade, but will look like years of meth use in the end.) I’m saying that Think overstated (surprise!) with his assessment of it “all being MrT” & defending it is just wrong.

Ozzy ... agreed, and the pathetic Obama economy would’ve been FAR worse if he and the Fed hadn’t pushed their horrible policies of quantitative easing, pumping trillions of unbacked new dollars into the economy to try to prop up the impotent Obama economy, at the trial of sparking hyperinflation.

Thankfully we have an adult in the Oval Office again, and the Fed can act far more responsibly.
