Christians: In many different denominations, there seems to be an increase of reported sexual assault. Is this a new epidemic or has this likely been occurring at the same rate throughout history?

Power often attracts nefariousness. Schools, government, clergy, rapists and pedophiles love to infiltrate these things

Pope just outed the priest putting nuns in sex slavery. Look how many decades that went on and they did not do one thing to stop it. The pope now has the authority and he still has not stopped it.

The problem may not be unchanged through the centuries, but I have a feeling it's been around since at least the mid-20th century.

The rate is something new. It’s always happened, but it’s a new thing that the majority of men are addicted to pornography. Assault and many other improprieties are depicted in pornography and the rate at which society “develops” broken men is higher than it used to be.

I don’t know the answer to my poll question. It just breaks my heart when Church leaders feed off of people’s vulnerability and take advantage of them because of their own lustful desires.
