There are approximately 129.5 million households in the US. 80% use oil, gas, or propane to heat their homes and generate domestic hot water for bathing. With the proposed Green New deal when should homes start converting to all electric?
No! Electricity will not support the demand.
Let's make all existing homes totally renewable, LEED certified, with rain collection and solar, double paned windows, etc. That will hugely impact the lowest income earners, I think that's what they want. Hurt the poor, give them 'free' stuff, keep them dependent on the government.
What would that cost? I upgraded my boiler $9k, replaced 9 windows $12k.
So $20,000 X 100,000,000 = a bunch.
No sure if people can afford it. It’s a clueless plan.
People can't afford it, that's my point.
I know. But my numbers are real. Now I have to convert my gas to inefficient electric. Thanks AOC!
Lei ... watch yourself! Collecting rain water can get you thrown in jail in the silly leftist enclaves in this country!
But the left can tax the water that's collected!! Every house will have a cistern with a meter similar to the gas and water meters we currently use. They can take the tax dollars to help make higher education free.
What scares me is that in 20 years, this will be a reality.
